Imperator put on hold: Mythic directs their energy back to DAOC.

Mythic's probably jumping for joy right now with how well their new servers are doing.. them cancelling Imperator and saying that they'll focus on darkness rising shows a renewed overall plan of more energy being put toward DAOC. The future is bright for the game!

They are not really refocusing on DAOC.  It is that they spent millions to license Warhammer and can only afford to develop one new game at a time.  Warhammer has a large audience and would have a greater chance of success in an already saturated market.

Althought Julian is prolly more right then the OP, that dont mean that the OP is wrong.

I think DAoC is indeed doing pretty well and on the rise again with this new measure.  Warhammer is a name that can leave WoW or DDO in awe.  Business talk.

I am sure some devs see a LOT of work go into nothingness and this must not be a happy news for those who invest themselves in what COULD have been a huge success.

They said in their press release that they were refocusing on the DAOC expansion, as well as Warhammer. I should've mentioned Warhammer as my original post is somewhat misleading, though not intentionally.

I can say without doubt that they will definitely be investing more of their efforts into DAOC than they were before. They see the 3500 players that they have on both of their new servers, which are numbers that they haven't gotten in a long, long time (well, since ToA released, interesting....), and they know that DAOC has life in it yet.

So yes, they are definitely refocusing, and putting some of their new focus into DAOC.
