Now that 1.19 has been released how do you feel the game will go from here? With all the advances will the new UI and box release give this game the expanded player base it needs?
Does anyone have any thoughts on if this release will be the saving grace or the beginning of the end?

For me the game has been improving steadily. Also 1.19 is a step forward imo. My only whine with it is that the compass eats too many fps. They should give the option to slect the compass without the map-background.
As for expanding player base, I sure hope they will include a decent up-to-date manual. 1.19 has made it esier for new players to come aboard, but lots of game mechanics aren't explained anywhere and that's just unforgivable.
Maybe CorneredRat needs an expanding playerbase to survive, I don't know, but as far as big battles are concerned, these are already abundant.
I love 1.19, but FPS did take a big hit. I am confident that like all FPS CRS will fix it in a timely manner. The future of the game depends on if TO&Es and full Brigade Spawning are in before the rerelease. If not and they release it after it hits shelves, I think it could really hurt the game. If everything is in the box I think it will have a great rerelease to stores and gain some much need subscribers. With that will lead to the new terrain and graphics engines within a year and North African Expansion.
I must say, with all honesty that 1.19 has really killed off a good amount of the player base. CRS made some big mistakes in Campaign 21 (Patch 1.19) campaign, and it led a lot of people to unsubscribe from the game. It's easy to tell that this is happening, because some of the biggest squads lost a lot of people. My squad alone had 30 active people, now we're hardly managing to have 5-6 people on a night.
Also, it seems like CRS is moving away from the squad aspect of the game and trying to get everyone into a HC style of play. Don't get me wrong, I'm in the GHC myself, but I think it's going to alienate a large group of the playerbase.
For once, I'm actually concerned about WWIIOL, seems like a ton of people are leaving and the team is already hard-pressed enough.
You squad just isn't any good then. My squad consistently has 20-30 people on or more. The game playerbase increased since 1.19 gradually actually. The fact is that play numbers fluctuate, old players leaving doesn't mean new players aren't jumping on because they LIKE the changes. So looking at just your squad's membership is a bit biased. Kinda like the economy, it lowers and rebounds. The rats aren't in trouble I don't think, none of em look too poor
Interesting pnhobbit.
I say that because both Allied and Axis teamspeak servers have had notably fewer players online during my timezone than was the case prior to 1.19.
Allied Teamspeak - 1.18 average 54 1.19 average 32
Axis Teamspeak - 1.18 average 63 1.19 average 19
Now that's taken over the whole of Campaign 21, and of course does not capture those players who choose to:
a) not use teamspeak at all
b) use a teamspeak server other than the AHC/OKA servers
Personally, I think CRS are in a LOT of trouble. With about a month to go until BE release, its very similar to the situation they were in prior to 6th June 2001. Back then, the beta testers begged them not to release the game in the state it was in ..... beta testers are saying the same things to them again now.
If anything, its gonna be RDP that kills WW2OL once and for all. Imagine trying to explain to a noob, "Yes, this game includes the Tiger tank as a Tier 3 AFV. Please bear in mind though that if previous campaigns are anything to go by, the Tiger will be available in game maybe 3 or 4 times a year, and for about a week each time".
The Fw190 is only tier 2, yet in the 6 months its been part of the game, its only been RDP'd twice. What do you think the chances are for Tier 3 vehicles ?
I'm going to assume you play allied then. It's not hard to tell that the axis player base has declined since 1.19 came out. Like a poster said, just check the TS logs. I know that not all players use TS, but the axis have easily had a 30-40% drop in players. I know squads that had 50+ active members and barely manages 15-20 players now. I don't doubt that players are joining, but I doubt that there hasn't been a huge exodus of players leaving the game. I know lots of people who couldn't even play in 1.19.
The intermission going on now says a lot of them are playing again. Player numbers dip naturally with moral and such by side.
In intermission at the very least if there are less players it is hard to notice.
Fighting last night against the germans there were constant open runs, atgs, and paratroopers as be fought them out of the city and into the surrounding area, trying to take the fight to them by paradrop but only partially succeeding. There were plenty of German targets though! I recommend you log-in and try the game at the moment because infantry battles are just dang fun when you get with a coordinated squad that calls out targets and tries to keep you alert to nearby threats.
Axis numbers are down because of the Metz fiasco. People are already flocking back. Hell we had 2 guys I hadnt seen in a year come back to us this weekend.
Also remember that it is summer time. My experience tells me that there is always less people playing during the summer time.
Nice try sport.
I don't know what is your problem. But I and the members of my squad (some 100 regular players) don't have the problem you are talking about. And mind you, I play on a more then three years old Mac (2x1GHz cpu) which isn't the optimum machine for computergames.
Sure, the release of v1.19.0 had some issues, which is always the issue with major patches. And 1.19.0 was proberbly the biggest patch in WWII Online history. But CRS fixed the problems a few days later. v1.19.3 gives me even a slightly better playing experience then v1.18.4 did.
Go somewhere else and tell your fairy-tale.
