Sponsored ad written by MMORPG staff? That just seems like a conflict of interest to me. This is why people think reviews are bought and paid for here. Love all you do Bill, but this just doesn't seem right.
This game generates so hate, most of the people that talk about this game didnt get past level 35.
Im no white knight, but there is so wrong information. Like there is real open world, the problemn the game is designed more like instanced type. Who loved lineage 2 c2 will love this game it has realy good similarities.
We could argue that some of the features is kinda copies from other mmos, but for real, we dont see anything new, just recycled stuff. The gameplay is realy fast paced you need to have reflexes for me better than BnS, well its a matter of opinion.
About p2w i cant argue with that, where i find to a certain degree p2w, it depends what p2w is to us, maybe p2skip. doenst matter my.com is greedy and unfair. Period.
The real problemn is the publisher, my.com who managed this game realy bad. No voice acting, bad to no existent translations. Full of gold sellers, no customer support, etc.
No, I did not make it past level 35 because the game sucked every level below it. Why should I have to level to 35 before being able to decide if I like it or not?! That is insane. I don't like the game, I think it is terrible for several reasons that I did not need to level up to 35 to figure out. My opinion, deal with it. I can't stand people who try to discredit others' opinions with absurd anecdotes.
Gold spammers killed the game for me. I had to turn off all chats except guild. I love my guild but there needs to be more socialization to an MMO. As fast as the chat screens scroll with gold spamming it makes any socialization nearly impossible.
1 million,5.19 even 20 million players could login and still every single player will do the exact same thing, run directly for that npc with the yellow marker over it's head.
WHY?It is suppose to be my game right,i don't login a mmo to play exactly like every other player,so clone gaming and clone players.
It is a single player design.
Ok so i am already not liking the game but i'll bite,i follow the npc.
BAM !!! you are level 2 grats, you did such a wonderful job of following me we give you a fee level.Of course to someone who demands and immersive feel to my game this does not sit well with me at all.
Why is my blademaster or whatever he was called already become a more skilled better character just for following a npc about 15 feet?Makes no sense at all.
So then i am thinking i don't like this locked mouse idea either,i like to have a free roam camera, then i don't like WASD either,so now i have go and change all the settings.
So i go to the settings page and think, why bother,i do not want to play any linear connect the yellow markers game,so i logout and delete.
So very few developers know how to create an immersive realistic mmo world, they think all a mmorpg should be is levels and npc's with yellow markers over their head.So then i remembered what Ripper kept saying in his video "i am only here fo the pvp at level 40".Well kudos to him because has something to look forward to ,for me i hate pvp in mmorpg's and i hate this design,so was an easy delete for me.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
yea play it for 2 to 4 weeks and you will get bored asap the daily grind in this game is heavy HEAVY also you need to keep your AH sells up so you can be able to get items from the cash shop to upgrade your gear
How is this a 'preview'? The title should have big fat SPONSORED in it, as this is obviously written by the publishers PR team and not labeling it as such is just click-bait.
Let's be honest. The real reason people are interested in this game is for the wings. I mean, that's the first thing that the article mentions when it was already fairly obvious.

MMORPG.com is sooooooooo not *cough* in it for the money
You Caint even see the chat with all the gold spam, U caint play for more then 1-2 hours a day befor u hit the daily caps, gameplay is dated and several skills luck u from moving. Id rather be playing rift or gw2 for sure. And Yea seams like bill over hyped this a good bit its a bad waste of money.

I have to agree, totally seems like a marketing team write up and not at all like Bill's writing style.

its just a piece of pure SHIT or blatent money RIP OFF in guise of a MMORPG, for all F2P gamers, this game will try to insult your intelligence (esp the weak minded fool) i.e. making it real easy to level to 49 and when you pop over to level 50, you realised OMFG my gear is useless and for most of the major level 50 content so you will need to invest heavily i.e. throw money into the game to gear-up or just forget about getting any top tier dungeons, ofcourse you can just grind forever in low tier shitty dungeons 3 times per week and pray to the heavens you get mats to allow you to craft your gear and this gonna take forever.....
and level 50 is just the start remember the next 10 levels you'll need high tier gear and the last 10 levels is gonna be your worst nightmare with the never ending grind, weak fools will then start to throw their hard earn cash into the game...
last but not least, poor localisation and poor design quest and there are so many factions, therefore you'll have a hard time keeping track on which merchant offers which mats/special skill books/etc..
not forgetting the names arent user friendly or intuitive at all therefore it challenges your googling skill to find the information and buggy quest system etc..
Time to argue against the opener as I've played this since CBT, and just wish to tell the truth as I play this game and have multiple characters at 59.
The Power of Flight: Yes! You get wings! movement is great, until wings run out of energy!
Create your Ideal character: This game has one of the best character creators out there. I won't lie, but its missing some of the options. Rather than have RACES, you have three forms of female, and three forms of males.
More PvE than you can shake a stick at: Sorry, but no! The PvE is very small and mundane in this game to the point that the player will be doing Daily Quests every single day. Here is a list of what players do at the Level 50 - 54 range per day like clockwork
Daily Token (Run an easy version of a dungeon pre-selected daily)
4 Kings (Solo attack a battle arena where the first six areas give you EXP and the others are just bragging rights and stones to get EXP)
Guardian Trials (Tower of Pain or Misty Hollow) Once a day
Guild Quests (if you are in a guild along with Taskboard Quest)
Hot Springs (Go AFK and get EXP to your crafting and experience levels)
Trade Quest (Which almost no one in their right mind does)
Scour Dungeons (Kill monsters to level up your gear and yourself, 180 per day)
You will be doing this per character EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Also, if you want to improve your gear, here is what you will do in addition:
Deserted Shrine Hard Mode (once a day)
Grand Bulwark Hard (once a day)
Idiotic Mentoring Quests for mats (3 times a week)
Deserted Shrine Expert Mode 1* - 3* (3 times a week)
Faction Quests for Immortal Annex (Daily, to get your 3* Special Skill)
Misty Hollow Normal Mode (once per day)
Daily Quests take me 45 minutes to an Hour per character.
PvP Like a Boss:
PvP against players who used the Aurum Shop (Cash Shop) to buy Red Tickets to jack all their gear to +10 and Tier Beads to Jack their awakening to Level IV. Enjoy getting your ass handed to you by the guild that takes advantage of the cash shop.
FACT: The means to get to +10 from +8 was gated behind content as the servers in this game have an Aging System where a certain number of people need to reach the current highest tier in order to unlock access to the next tier. The original dominators of the tiers in PvE and PvP were the players who bought Red Tickets and jacked their gear up early on.
They were smart enough to trade in-game money to Aurum when it was 100 Coins per Aurum and then jack their characters up to full power.
There are still some parts of the game that are still in Chinese.

Bill, why do you put your name on under "sponsored content"? Do you feel that's perceived as a positive for your reputation as the chief editor? Most the commenters here don't seem to agree. Did you actually write it?
This game holds the record for fastest game uninstalled. I barely got to the first quest NPC, and had enough already. What exactly keeps people playing this mess? Genuinely curious.

They got to 40 found out it's a grind like vanilla wow used to be and now bitch and moan. The cash shop I personally think is reasonable, I like the class design of occultist ( I am a mature gamer who finds class design more important then the action combat tab target debate) I still have to try pvp out, however I think there is a nice balance between pve and pvp, seems to cater to a lot of different tastes. They still need to clean up the translation though, shouldn't be any Chinese text in important quests (repeated quests in long chain quest like Learning to sing)

Blade and Soul isn't really dead, it's kind of thriving actually.
Not WoW's level of course, but it's more popular than something like GW2, and up there with BDO/FF14. The internet is such an echo chamber
I have to admit the flying is cool but it made me wish that it worked like that in Aion.

Playing this game will cause you to finally write off MMOs as dead genre and avoid like plague from that moment on.

Neither of those sponsored tags on your screen shot appears in the mobile version of the page
In fact it is clearly prefaced as a "Preview" both in the title page and after you open it up.
