Gloria Victis News - Black Eye Games has sent word about the latest update applied to Gloria Victis that brought a fully customizable 4-story castle model into the game. This structure is a part of player-run settlements and can be upgraded with things including eforced doors, coat of arms, emblems, etc.

    I bought this to support it waaaay back with the intention on playing it when it got refined. Just went in to see the progress and ewwww, still bad. Very disappointing. The combat animations remind me of LOTRO, which is 10 years old. Check out this recent video of gameplay and fast forward to about 3:28 and you'll see what I am talking about. No impact or weight to the weapons at all. Just feels bad. Shame because this seems like a legit game otherwise. I can handle poor graphics, but animations are important.     They are actually in the middle of doing an entire revamp of the combat animations using motion capture

    I am in the same boat as you, those new animations look sick. I'll check it out in more depth once those go in.

So, just a quick heads up for you guys: we are polishing. It’s a long, yet rewarding process, as we are tweaking little details over and over again to exterminate bugs and make sure it feels great to roam and fight. Team members responsible for combat work on it non-stop. Unfortunately, such is the nature of games development: every system, especially core mechanics, needs to be iterated to make it perfect and that’s why it takes so much time. On the bright side though – that’s polish phase already! We intensively debug and test internally. Sneak peek of old vs new system will be released as soon as possible.

    I can see you are great at research finding out these issues that the game has been working on addressing for the past 6 months or so. They are in the progress of releasing motion captured animations when they are done polishing them so you can expect it sooner rather than later

    GV is a great game, I have been playing since alpha and have nothing but good things to say about it. It's come a very long way and continues to improve! =)

    Settle down Beavis. I am great at researching....for my profession and when I decide to knock out another graduate class.

    I installed the game, logged in, and played it to see for myself how far it had come. I posted my disappointed here. Thankfully there were some helpful folks (you excluded) that alleviated those concerns with some awesome and positive news and posts....without the "netitude". They probably are rational people who see that I genuinely want to like this game and am not just a hater.

    Life's too short to be a jerk over minor crap brother, on the internet or otherwise.
