A decent router I like is linksys

I have a wireless router with them and a physical router. However, I dont use Kazaa or those software because the spyware they have now are so severe they can seriously shut down your computer.

I have a physical linksys as well and had no problems at all. Your router's settings are preventing you from downloading. You would need to change those. Also, be sure to change the default settings on your router, or you will find your computer just as vurnerable without one.

And En1gma, how did you set your proxy on the Linksys?

I have a Netgear and I've only had one issue which was resolved with a BIOS upgrade. Like Dekron said, your issue with your current router is probably just a configuration issue. The router itself probably isn't "blocking" any of those software.

I couldn't play Age of Empires or Age of Mythology on my Linksys no matter what I did. MMORPG's ran fine. I tried changing the ports, opening everything up, DMZ or whatever I forget, I updated the firmware, EVERYTHING. I called tech support, oh what a mess. Nothing could fix the damn Linksys router.

I switched to a Belkin and everything worked fine from the start. ::::08::

A little over your budget but you're paying for quality.
