I usually buy samsung ssd's but looking to upgrade my son's pc on the cheap (pricewise) but I have never used ADATA before so was wondering what people thought of them that have actually used them before.

Just want a ssd big enough for windows and browser he has another larger volume HDD.

Looking at this since it's on sale right now:

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.

That one has a Silicon Motion controller, so it should be perfectly good as a budget SSD.

I still run 120G SSDs in some of my systems, plenty of room for OS, browser, and even a few games/applications on top of that.

Hard to make a bad SSD. They purchase controllers from the same few sources, they purchase memory from the same few sources. As long as they don't fuck up on their end it should work perfectly.

Once Ive switched to Samsung 950 pro M2, my 500MB read/write SSDs seem really slow now.

I wouldnt ever go back to SSDs now

It also costs about three times as much as the SSD he's looking at.

Oh it does, but the performance improvement is well worth it IMO

Perhaps but my son wont care since he's 8 and coming from a old old HDD. His games and comics and other videos are on a second 1TB hdd.

When I upgrade mine I might take a look at the pro line as currently the other pc's in the house have ssd from the evo line.
