Great card for the price. And Newegg are just Gods in the world of online ordering. I've had a lot of experience with Leadtek cards and they do seem to run a bit cooler than quite a few other brands. I say go for it.
"What is it I have against Microsoft, you ask? Well, you know how you feel when you wait for an MMO to come out and when it does you feel like you've paid to play it's beta test for another 6-9 months before anything even thinks of working the way it should? Being a network engineer you feel that way about anything Microsoft puts out."

You'll really want to get away from the MX cards. They are pretty much GeForce 2s on steriods. Not to mention they have crap for Vertex and Pixel Shader support. If you can, I suggest an update.

Do you have PCI EXPRESS or PCI? They are completely different. PCI Express is a very new technology. If your computer is old you likely have PCI or AGP. PCI Express will not work with PCI. You need a plain old PCI card no Express. The best PCI card you can get is a GeForce 5700.
Good point, Jag. I forgot to even ask that question...

i know its not a AGP computer and im pretty posotive its a PCI express. My computer is fairly new. Its an Emachine T6212 and it has to be pretty new i think speaking it came with an AMD 64 Athlon 3200+ prossecor
Yep PCI Express. The 6600 is fine if you can't afford anything better. But like everyone said the 6600 GT is where it is at and I would really try to scrounge the funds up to buy a GT.

It's junk. Get a 6600 GT not just a plain 6600 card.
I'm going to have to agree. For another $10 you can get a 6600GT and get a hell of a lot better performance.
never mind that i found a GT for my PCI mother board.
would this be a better choice? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814122201
thanks for the help by the way
