AS we know now one could say that there are is a finite amount of particles of sand being the case that we basically know the extent of the earth as it is now. As for the universe we do not know where it ends or how big it is. Thats why I think there are more stars.

    Shots out!

well stars are basically uncountable. there is an infinite amount of space, therefore most likely an infinite amount of stars.

"This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind...let it be something good."

As for the ammount of stars we could ever count I would have to say sand.  As for the ammount of stars that exist in a never ending univers, I would have to say stars.

Mars has sand. Anyway, I'm curious to know how many stars astronomers know about.

It's a close call man.. sand is EVERYWHERE.. you cant always see it either.. think about the deserts... know how many Quadtrillion pieces of sand there are? (quadtrillion is 4trillion).

Or on the ocean floor. The ocean is huge. See, both numbers can be estimated by scientists (sand more so) but at this point it's still a very speculative topic. By the way, thanks for the star count. Though, in four years, I'm sure they've discovered many more stars. I mean, think of Jupiter. They just keep finding more and more moons. They just recently made it 31 moons.
