Is this game worth it?

I have been looking into this game a lot and was wondering id this was worth paying the monthly fee. I thought for a while there it was free to play. I like the graphics but now that it is pay to play is it worth playing?

It has always been pay to play. There is a free trial you can check out here http://forums.ac2.turbinegames.com/showthread.php?t=9088

This game is like any with a monthly fee. If you play the game many hours a month, it's probably worth it. I like the game very mutch.

Well AC2 was great!   I played in on the pvp server for a couple of years, its an awsome game...  however the problem in that game was when microsoft sold all the rights turbine, there was almost a year gap with out any advertising... slowly only players left were the die hards -- even then problems with the Devs not listening to there player base - eventually other games came out like final fantasy xi and then WoW crushed it.. when i left there was peek population of 40 lol probably 20 of those were bots

well if the populations are back up on darktide at least peak over 200 i would concider re-activating my defender

    Tatz

Every MMORPG has a monthly fee... Ac2 was decent they need class balance though last time a played, if you didnt have a tactician, you simply could not fight. Plus this monthly nerf thing. uhg they did that with ac1, you know they ran out've idea's when they added a level 999 white bunny. Just fix whats wrong and get on with it. But sure if u wanna try it I'd say its a pretty great game (Up to about level 20)

It was fairly balanced by the time i left, the bounty hunter and the ranger need a tad of loving but not to much,  They nerfed tacts tons comepaired to when I first started playing, most tacts changed to something else.  they gave invokers some loving too but in my opion i took my level 40 invoker and turned it into farel indentant....

By the time the devs started getting things rolling after the microsoft to turbine migration, they started adding tons of stuff into the game...but a little to late, the non advertising and all the new games, left ac2 pretty much dead, so we all left and wound up in wow.

The white bunny is from AC1. He is awesome, he will kill you with 1 spell or in a couple of melee hits. He's super fast too. It takes a whole team of people to take down a little white rabbit. It's just a joke like how some of the devs have of their names signed in the geography of AC1.

My wife and I agree. Seems like the dungeon quests started getting harder and harder for a duo to accomplish. Got to the point where we realized that we would have to outlevel the dungeon to have a chance at finishing the quests... at that point, why do the quests for gear that's 5 levels below you?

Fun to twenty. After that? Well, if you like to group, or solo outdoors, then you might find this game worth it. Like most other games, the upper end tends to herd you into grouping and throws you into a grind.

AC2 has some good things going for it and some good concepts, but it just doesn't seem to be all there.

It's a good game and has been made even better with recent additions however the low population on my server (Dawnsong) keeps me from going back for any length of time.  I honestly think that if the latest expansion doesn't pull in enough new subscriptions Turbine will phase this game out and just concentrate on it's new releases.image

On a scale of 1 to 10 how addictive is this game. I am looking for a new game. I am a power player that likes to spend hours on end in a good game.

    Thanks Spard

heh.. well it varies from person to person. I've been playing for 3 years.

If you like powerleveling well.. this game never stops really. You can level as far as you want. Highest level player is 89 cap is 150.

I'd say try the free trial.. aim for lvl 30 or so for the 15 days. should give you a decent taste of the game.
