      As far as Tactics and Formations go,  every rivaling country in that time was more than capable of highering trained troops.  So to say that you will never see a Barbarian Force marching in formation or using certain tactics is ridiculous.  Unless RB has said it would be so,  in that case this games not true to the old.

      Also do you have any idea who Hannibal was? A BARBARIAN from Carthage who nearly wiped Rome out, using of all things....  Tactics!

    It also says in the game info about combat & command that Romans will have automatic formations (whatever that means) and the barbarians will have formations as well but they wont be automatic or something like that.

    That's a very, very old post. Brings back memories.

    I did not read anything about automatic formations in combat & command. I searched the entire page for the word 'formation' to be sure and nothing came up.

    No developer said anything about how formations will be done. What was said is that a hierachy will be in place to order formations.

    We did discuss automated formations several times, but to my knowledge it has never been confirmed or denied.
