so with the OP are we back to complaining about the state of games of which I appear to be the only person (in this forum...calm down) who doesnt not agree with that assestment and as a result is the cause of everyone victimhood and pain
I didn't say I was in pain. I said shoving a fork in my head would be less painful than trying decipher your endless glossolalia. Guess I wasn't clear about that or, as usual, you read into people's words only what you want to hear.
I didnt say you were either, why would you even think that?

Look getting back to my original point a LOOONG time ago, I am suggesting to folks that this era of gaming is in fact the best in the history of gaming BUT they have to be willing to look outside the box they are used to.
and as far as being a special snowflake, sales of Rust + Ark is MORE THAN ALL the sales from ALL platforms of Witcher 3 so I think I am not alone that there is something significantly good going on the market right now but some do fight extra hard in being the victim.

You are going to extreme great lengths to do anything you can to justify the feeling that games are just all in a hoorible state and no matter what find a reason for you to not look into the games I mention, so much so I dont think you are fully aware the level of sillyness you take it.

people are buying these games because they want to. They watch youtube, they like what they see, they play them. what amazes me is that you have ZERO intrest in learning anything about the games themselves, absolutly zero. you want to go out of your way to make sure in your mind they are unintresting to look at so that you can feel sad about the state of gaming.

    nope not really.

you think suddenly there was a magically 100% jump in sales over the past 12 months?

Look here is the bottom line, people like yourself are crying about how bad games are, I am illustrating a solution, people like you are going to great lengths to avoid taking an honest look to see if it can solve your sorrow.

That is basically what is going on here, it also validates what i feel is happening in regards to the question from yesterday 'no..no I do NOT think most gamers here have tried these titles and I think they will go to great lengths to justify not doing so and instead remain in a world of sorrow that they go to great lengths to remain in'

I do have an itch though to compile a sales (and player base use list) of my top 10 favorite current games...maybe i should?

Since you are going a looong way back note the OP was about 3 cancelled MMOs/MMORPGs. and the discussion was about how this subset of "gaming" is currently not thriving.

We are all well aware how other online game types (MOBAS, Survival) and games in general (Witcher, Kerbal etc) are doing great.

Asking us to broaden our horizons and play something else is nonsensical. WE ALREADY ARE OR WE DON'T WANT TO, we just want some new, well made MMOs/MMORPGs to play.

For some of us we are not willing to stretch or change the definition of what these types of games are or should be.

So while we keep trying to have a conversation about all of the bad apples offered today no need to keep telling us we must learn to eat oranges, because after all they are fruit too

    nope.

I am saying 'NO YOU ARENT PLAYING THOSE OTHER GAMES AND DONT EVEN WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THEM'.

You (meaning the group here) WANTS to live in a state of sorrow and if that means trying to suggest an MMO is radically different in experience from these multiplayer solutions like Rust and Ark then so be it no matter how ridiculous it sounds

I very literally have two multiplayer games in which the rule set and player experience is EXACTLY the same as the MMO version.

its not a serious suggestion to say 'oh an MMO like Ark just could not ever happen and the experience is radically different because there is 20 people instead of 2000 and 1980 of them I will never talk to' its silly

It's not any more of a stretch than trying to convince people here that sales is an indicator of something more than...well, sales.

As for the the rest of your - once again - nonsensical rambling, it's just more bullshit from you trying to convince people that your solution is somehow actually a solution to their gaming woes. You think we haven't tried the games you keep going on about? If they were the solution, we would be playing them. You're not the only person who has discovered early access and indie games. Get a fucking clue.

Nobody here really needs your "wisdom", especially when you keep trying to force-feed it to us.

well it all boils down to this

You: cry tears about the state of gaming
Me: have advice that can improve your gaming experience
You: dont care and dont even want to go remotely close to a solution to your sorrow

MY FAULT: I really really really need to learn to stop trying to help people who clearly have no interest in improving their position. On that I am sorry I am a slow learner on that aspect.

I'm not crying. I'm playing games I like and I'm happy about it. You're trying to "help" someone who doesn't need your help.

BTW, I suspect the majority of people here dont need or want your help either. How self-absorbed to you have to be to think people need your help? How much of an over-developed sense of self-importance do you have to think you're capable of helping people with their game choices?

step back and think about that.

re-read the OP a few times, then step back and read what you just said to me and correlate how I am wrong...

this reply you just made is a bit odd to say the least.

EDIT: I have some time to explain

    1. I explicitly stated that 'people here dont want my help' so not sure why your pointing out basically what I already said.
    2. The OP is by its very nature an OP complaining about the state of gaming. I dont see how you can possibly read it any other way. Do you agree with the OP? because I assume you do. If you do then you are complaining about the state of gaming and I am offering you a solution that you (as you so keenly are aware) are not interested in which I already said!

Now, if you dont want to join us other millions of folks in great gaming experiences then that is fine you can be a ......... you know what about it :)

p.s. I know your fixated on the special snowflake and looking for ways to flip it as i just did there but maybe its not worth it?

with all that said, I think I am coming close to be done with it. I really need to learn to stop trying to help people who dont want it

    ok whatever dude

my response is if you are unhappy with games (like the OP TITLE clearly suggests) I have solutions for you. GOOD solutions

and I cant have a serious conversation with someone who thinks MMO and Multiplayer games like I listed are miles apart in experience all because of the Trading Post has more than 100 people. that is fucking ass stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have two games in which every single solitary rule set is EXACTLY the same between the 'multiplayer' version and the 'MMO' version. People who are being unbearably stubborn about the parameters HAVING to be an MMO really need to extract their head from their ass

Remember back in the day when stuff was announced only when it was relatively close to being released/published? Not this building hype phase for a year or 2 only to be let down by cancellations or faulty launches.

On a more serious note, instead of looking to the future, why not the past? Its still possible for current games to get "better" especially if they keep following WoW's formula of pretty much making a brand new game every expansion with no previous elements mattering. So just as WoW can make a moba/management sim with Legion, they can make something more interactive and less cumbersome and dictative in the next one.

The idea of Indie games is great on paper but honestly a person has to step back and wonder if its sustainable. Pantheon/Ashes of Creation/etc seem great as ideas (and yes I am looking forward to both) and they very well may do well the first year or so, but what about the after? Even though some people dont like the formulaic themeparks like FFXIV and WoW the one thing both games can provide is stability, which is a lot to many players. Those games will continue to be around for years to come mainly because the companies behind them are currently financially stable. The same can't be said for indie projects which heavily depend on the market more so than SE/Blizzard which can siphon from other projects if needed.

In closing, maybe have as much hope for current games adopting older tactics as you want that next "wowkiller" to be developed.

OP: Is there any open world MMO in the making that has not yet been released?

    Your response:

no its because big developer dont have a fucking clue what they are doing in that genre.

Ark, Rust, 7 days to die, Life is Fudeal all doing just fine.

yeah I know ''buuuuuut those games are not an MMO and that matters because of reasons.. ."

I think we're way past odd where your input is concerned. You can't dig out of the hole you've created, although watching you trying to scramble out of it is mildly entertaining.
how can I take this seriously.

you are talking about an OP with the following title

'EverQuest "Next" = CANCELED. Bless Online = CANCELED. Lineage Eternal = Dev Team Replaced. COME ON!'

and you want to suggest its 'not complaining'

    ok whatever dude

my response is if you are unhappy with games (like the OP TITLE clearly suggests) I have solutions for you. GOOD solutions
I don't care what you think the OP suggested. He asked a question you answered by disparaging AAA developers and then pushing your EA games with a snide comment just in case someone calls you out about them not being MMOs. Your response was worthless.

Do do you even think before you type?
    dude...you and I are done.

I am not having a conversation with a person who does not see the OP as a complaint.
I am not having a conversation with a person who thinks Muliplayer RPG style games cant have the nearly the exact same experience as an MMO.
I am not having a conversation with a person who clearly does not want help.

Not doing it anymore. please stop

I might regret saying it above but I really need to stop talking to you

from time to time I add and remove people from my ignore list. I am adding you now, I will add your name to my signature (and others moving forward) so that those people know they are being ignored.

I am not havnig a conversation with you when you dont even see the OP as a post of complaining and I am not having a conversation with you when you dont even have the experience enough to know a gaming experience between a multiplayer game and an MMO is almost exactly the same depending on the games in question and its a waste of my time.

    EverQuest "Next"
    - Being a longtime fan of the EQ series, I couldn't wait. I even purchased the "big" package for that horrid EverQuest Landmark... After years of waiting... CANCELED.

Lineage Eternal - Couldn't wait for this game. A top-down hack-n-slash that's a full-blown MMO?! Sweet! After years of waiting... DEVELOPMENT TEAM HAS RECENTLY / COMPLETELY BEEN REPLACED...

Bless Online - Where are the NA Open World MMOs? I have to rely on Korea to produce them... I couldn't wait for Bless Online... After years of waiting... CANCELED.

Lost Ark - After a long time of waiting... Any news? SIGH.

In an effort to get this conversation back on tract I will say that yes there are some open world MMOs in the works. However, the game play experience one gains from playing many of the multiplayer games out there is so close to an MMO experience its really worth giving them a try and there is a LOT of them and a lot of them are very good.

Additionally, to those who are stuck in the old traditional MMO ecosystem I can tell you that there are a lot of people playing these games and a lot of people enjoying them. so...

    IMPORTANT:
If you are happy with the older more 'traditional' style MMOs and still having the time of your life then my advice is not worth much. HOWEVER, if you are not pleased with your current gaming selection when it comes to playing with others I do have games I can advise to you that very likely could dramatically improve your gaming experience as it did with me if your interested in making that improvement

'in March 2016, developer CD Projekt Red reported that the game had shipped nearly 10 million copies worldwide.[85]'
Kind of outdated don't you think?
    nope not really.

you think suddenly there was a magically 100% jump in sales over the past 12 months?

According to where the information from your Wikipedia link came from

    https://www.gamespot.com/articles/witcher-3-ships-almost-10-million-copies-report/1100-6435592/

The Witcher #3 made up for 50% of the total Witcher Franchise sales.

    http://www.pcgamer.com/the-witcher-series-has-now-sold-more-than-25-million-copies/

Since the numbers from the PCGamer article were taken from the *2016* financial results.

    https://www.cdprojekt.com/en/media/news/cd-projekt-posts-strong-results-2016/

We could estimate that sales from December 31 2016 and earlier can be between 12.5 and 15 million copies.

Its been another six months since then. So the answer is yes, it does seem that your numbers are a little outdated.

HAVING SAID THAT!, having two indie early access titles combined selling more than the jewel of AAA gaming industry on all platforms is significant regardless of player base.

Or...that people are so desperate for something new, they'll buy any piece of shit that promises them what they want to hear.

Watch out for Flavor Aid Online.
This industry is very heavy into what isnt more than waht is....I've never seen so much hype abotu so many MMOs not even in beta yet, many not even in alpha....Like you said, memntion the word "sandbox" or open world" and 90% of the forum asks where can they send their money to.
