What's a good MMO for me

ssaninssanin Member UncommonPosts: 22
Hi Everyone,

I am hoping to find an MMO that is right for me.  I do not have a lot of time to invest into MMOs that focus heavily on time sinks like daily quests you have to do daily to get anything worth while.  I love playing Overwatch.  The reason i love it is because you can log in, within seconds you can join a game, have some fun, and half hour to an hour later log out.

I tried WOW and SWTOR and FFXIV.  WOW has infuriated me beyond my ability to describe. SWTOR seemed clunky and bleh (though the stories seemed intreading).  FFXIV i'm not sure... seems so slow.  To get even the simple fetch quest completed takes like half hour. After logging off for the night after playing each game, i felt unaccomplished and not satisfied with the amount of time spent in game.

I looked into some games coming soon (dauntless, crowfall) and was very confused about how they work.  So i don't know what to play :X

Please let me know if you may have suggestions for games that are out now or coming soon.

Thanks for your time and suggestions!

If you're looking for a drop in/drop out MMO,

MMOs are literally built around time sinks, as it's how they make money. If you're looking for something to play in short bursts, try a MOBA.

As already stated, a single-player game might be best for OP. I find Torchlight (the first one. I never tried the second one) to be ideal for short sessions.

GW2, The Division.  Short quests, easy to port around so you don't have to spend a lot of time traveling.  Do a few quests and call it a day.

Marvel heroes online would probably be a solid choice...run a few quick missions, call it a day.

What type of game are you looking for? Action-based, tab-targeting, genre? Of those listed above GW2 and Marvel are both good choices for games where you can accomplish something without much time needed.

Another one I mess around with when I haven't got much time or just want to mess around is Trove.

If you like shooters maybe try Warframe. Most missions are 5-10 minutes and it's easy to get in, run a few and then leave.

You won't be able to do everything obviously. Defense and survival can last hours if you're good enough, and coordinating void missions for high tier loot can take some time. You can definitely get in and enjoy a lot though. There's pretty much always something to do with invasions, missions, corrupt missions, etc.

Most MMO's usually require chunks of time in order to get anything done so maybe a moba or another shooter like Overwatch may be your best bet for short bursts of play.

Albion Online is labeled an MMO and I think probably the best MMO option for short bursts of play.
MXM(Master X Master) is coming out on June 21 and will have PVE but also PVP & MOBA modes.
Paladins is like Overwatch but has some customizing if you wanted more than OW has to offer.
CS:GO is a nasty brutal shooter experience that is more skill based than OW & Paladins if you're looking for that sort of thing but you may also run into some cheaters.
