You are the same people who get excited when gas comes down from $5 per gallon to $4...."thank for you the fair price!!"
Nevermind the fact it was $1.20 per gallon the year before lol.
Yes it is fair by Blizzard standards, but still kind of silly for what you are getting. Don't get me wrong, I'll buy it...just not going to be "thankful" for the "fair" price lol.
Well, you could always buy 0 gallons and then have to walk everywhere. I think I'd rather be happy about saving $1 on something I NEED for living rather than spend energy complaining about old prices of which any complaining isn't going to make them come back.
Of course, in D3's case, you don't NEED D3 to live, but... well, MMORPGs in general are a luxury "first-world problems" kinda thing, more so than any other gaming genre in an industry that's already a first-world-problems industry. C'est la vie!
While true, it's all relative. And as someone else mentioned, Blizz is being one-upped by the smaller studio behind PoE on value in regards to expansion content.
Which is also relative. Let's not forget that Blizz updates the game regularly for free. While PoE is free, their stash tabs are not. So you can easily spend $40 on stash tabs alone! Go take a look yourself.
Now if we were to compare to D3, you can pick up the D3 battlechest (entire game and expansions to date) for $25. Add in the $15 Necro pack and BAM! We're even Steven.
I don't think that's stretching it, is it?
I can appreciate that people enjoy PoE. It's a great game. However, if you play it for any length of time, you will absolutely REQUIRE those stash tabs. So the cost really isn't that much different between the two, at all.
Oh lord... once again I'm faced with the almost irresistible appeal of buying something I'm not all that excited about because it's cheap... damn you Bliz!

The real necromancers are in PoE much more Necro than this thing and GGG add 6 new acts for free .
I must say PoE does have the better Necros but I hate that dungeon you have to go thru to get your ascendancy class ;P. I would rather be set on fire than do that thing one more time.
$15 for a new class is fair? Other games offer new content and several classes. The base game or RoS are both $20, and the battle chest is $30. This includes several classes, a lot of content...how can $15 be fair compared to that?
Sure, it includes character slots and more storage - which cost them nothing, and is only limited to make you buy the expansion. Other games including the base game and RoS also include that. They can sell pets and the other fluff extra. If people want it, they can buy it, those that don't want it could get the new character for $5 or maybe $10 max.
So yeah, i don't own D3 or anything - it was simply not worth the price tag for me, so i might already be biased, and i wouldn't buy this right now even for $2 as the game itself still costs too much, so think what you want, but $15 for a new class seems a lot.
$15 for storage + new class is a steal.
Look at other games where you can spend $200 to max storage.
I would love if Blizz sold additonal storage for D3 as with multiple gear sets i am always out
I was going to say I'd pay for more tabs too but I didn't want to open that can of worms. I am always out of space too. The overall cost of the game is pretty low.
The concept of paying real money for storage space in a PC game is funny.
Besides that, a new class for the price of a Happy Meal seems alright.
I agree it is weird. Why even limit what you can store, but it's one of the things people want that can be monetized. They keep a service running and want money for that. Hence, why I say I would bring it up but didn't. Irrationality at its best.
POE might be one of the greatest monetized games ever. Of all the F2P games out there, it's the one where you hear people complain the least, yet if you play it extensively at all you basically MUST spend like $40 minimum to buff your stash tabs.
What's hilarious, is that you can read lengthy posts on reddit, etc. where people detail how you can get by with only 4 stash tabs by using you full compliment of alts (24). It's like a science.
While I'm glad there is an "free" option for those who are diligent enough to manage the inventory of 24 alts on their account, I'll break down and pay the $40 or $50 to just get the necessary stash tabs, and support the developers. Cheapness really has no limits today, does it?
Anyone know if the Necromancer is a REAL necromancer with hordes of undead summons like in Path of Exiles and Diablo 2? Or even GW2 with its hordes of minions? Or is it a fake necromancer like in Vanguard Saga of Heroes or GW2 where you get very few summons.
cause if you get hordes of minions, then its an easy 15 dollar buy. if not, I'll just install PoE instead and play a real necromancer lol
My Skyrim, Fallout 4, Starbound and WoW + other game mods at MODDB:
@TheScavenger You can summon about 15-20 minions at once with d3s necro, i got into the closed beta and really enjoyed leveling the class. some of those minions have timed summons but u can get perks to extend that, or sets im sure make some permanent
