Right now in London, Canada, our own Aaron Couture is at TennoCon: the annual gathering of fandom and devs for the mega-hit F2P online shooter Warframe. During the convention, Digital Extremes unveiled a radical new direction for their game - Landscapes, in the Plains of Eidolon Expansion.

    About freaking time they did this. People have been wanting this for years. If they would do more maps like this new players would flock to this. Did they give a release date?

    Sounds awesome. If done right, it could compete with Destiny 2, esp. if Destiny 2 ends up disappointing.

    Had lots of fun in this game. There is a set for most play types which I think is great and can do really well is set up correctly. Ive been wanting to pick this up again. This is a perfect reason to jump back in!

    As someone only played a Bit of warframe and got a bit bored is this going to be at low levels med levels any levels lol?

    Well yeah I know that is the point if they were more realistic looking like non humans, or like humans like "Nier" or "Deus Ex" I would be playing lol.

    I also don't feel the game has a good story behind how they came to exist in the first place.

    Great News!!!
    Finally they listened to our feedback, open zones is exactly what this game needed to reach the next level.
    If they could turn this game into a MMORPG would be even better, once they add more zones, it would look like Anarchy Online on steroids.

    Warframe is my favorite Casual game, I play it whenever I quit a MMORPG or those days I have only 1 hour to play.
    It's pure fun, and it's Combat is just mind blowing.

    Everyone should try Warframe, it is free, I guarantee you will have lot of fun, but be aware, it could be very addictive.
    Definetly better than Destiny.

    Warframe use a Scaling System similar to ESO so you don't need to worry about levels.

    There are human faces for your character, but you should to advance on the story (that is really good) to discover it.

    You've not heard about Fashionframing then.  

    All of the avatars are cyborg/bots.  The controller-you never leaves your ship.  I've not gotten far enough in the story but I understand there is eventually a controller creator.  But that it's not much more than EvE's picture creator.

    That is right, and you get a special (ultimate?) ability to project yourself outside of your warframe and shoot an OP laser to damage enemies or heal allies. Also, you can leave your frame in real time inside your ship and walk as the controller. I don't remember if you can do that on a mission as well.

    I completely agree with you on this. Warframe is a pretty amazing game and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but much like you, I felt it was missing something. Looking forward to this one. Again.
