I have never played Guild Wars but I heard that it isn't strictly an MMO. That it does not have a huge, expansive, living world where everyone is playing and participating as in WoW. I heard you go from a town to an instance but there is no real world to explore in between.

The seamless, expansive world environment of WoW is the main reason I like it so much. Playing WoW is truly like entering an alternate, living universe that you are free to roam and explore at will. And the place is HUGE::::06::

The world is somewhat limited atm, but it takes time to unlock every town and city within the game GW.

Quests will often take you to new towns/cities, which require from 30 mins to maybe an hour or so of exploring. Once you reach a location though, you can instantly teleport there via in-game map.

If you play the game a lot, you should unlock most if not all of the locations in 2-3 weeks of time, and reach lvl 20 in the process.
