I haven't played the game, but I'm wondering: how does Blizzard staff treat and speak with players?
I'm convinced that the tone of the game company (how the employees of the company treat the players, do they treat players with respect, how do they manage their forums and other lines of communication?), affects and shapes the community far more than the players.
It's like the culture of a company, the ones at the top determine the tone of the company. If the company is run by assholes, people who treat their employees like garbage, eventually, the company will be full of assholes who treat the customers like garbage.
I agree with most of what they are trying to do but "intentional griefing"?
1 How on earth do they think they could prove intent? 2 The possibility means there is a problem with the design...fix it.
Other than this one problem, seems they are doing as they should be.
lol... general statements. You attacked him directly suggesting
i couldn't help but notice the over reaction drama, the two words SUGGESTING and directly attacking contradict each other.A suggestion would be by one own's opinion/definition,that does not mean it to be factual.
His analogy opf soccer is just an analogy of how bad players in sports are rewarded, this has been a long debate for many years.I actually listened to a Psychiatrist on the FAN590 one morning talking about this exact topic and he mentioned that it is most definitely wrong to reward failure.
However none the less, the topic is about Blizzard cleaning up the community in OW of which i already stated i agree with, just not on the one point.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Please come play my PvP game so you can be nice to other people.
You can be "nice" or civil in a pvp game. Or at least not mean spirited. If you can't be "nice/civil/not mean spirited" then I suggest you are playing a pvp game to indulge your issues.
When I PvP I seldom if ever talk to anyone. I just play and don't bother anyone (other than trying to kill them lol).
But I can state based on many, many hundreds of hours PvPing that there are a TON of PvPers (not all, but a lot) whose enjoyment seems to be based on, or bound up with, griefing others. Blizzard can't change that. They may ban a few folks, but they won't alter the overall experience of their game much.
Oh, I agree with you, I've experienced lots of these "guys". Not sure how they think they are going to be successful but they've made the claim so we'll have to wait and see.
