Now people can't use different IP's for more entries.
how so? before you could enter the giveaway with multiple accounts without changing your ip, browser, etc.
Now whoever wants to enter more than one time, need just to use an vpn, or change the ip by reseting your connection, etc.
there is no way to avoid that completly, unfornatelly
This is true. It is hard to stop a human from doing multiple entries using IP masking tools. We have a handful of ways we will not disclose to try and detect this. In addition we have added a CAPTCHA to our login form as well as the event page which seems to have cut waaaay back on the botting (5,000 entries in this event so far compared to 30,000 per day in past ones) - the botters use a human based service to pay ultra low wage people to complete captchas in real time (like https://2captcha.com/) to abuse sites like ours. When we did this we doubled their cost to automate an entry and this seems to have really helped. We will keep doing all we have to cut out the bogus entries on all events. In past DBD events almost 60% of all entries would be disqualified before we drew winners due to obvious suspicious data.
And for the record we never allowed entries from the same IP before - we just recently added a "rules" section that makes this more clear.
