We've been a bit remiss this last week or so about bringing in the Dark & Light "Basics" videos that Snail has sent out lately. Making up for lost time, you'll find a trio of great stuff in the form of Home Management, Taming the Wild and Crafty Crafting.

Dont buy any games from this developer. They showed how incompetent they are with ARK. Released few days ago, still memory leaks, still major bugs. This is just a re skinned ARK with unicorns. Wait till they release major bugs or release with bugs like ARk with an early access DLC.

Although I'll agree with not trusting Snail Games, Snail isn't involved in Ark's development. Now its definitely a possible that Snail bought a large portion of their assets from Ark since they bought probably 90% of the game's assets and even maybe hired some of the devs from Ark, but you can't really pin on the other.

Sadly, everyone I know has quit this. It could be a great game but it's plagued with bugs and the dev doesn't really seem to be fixing the major ones...

I've been playing DnL, and have been following a few streamers who play it regularly... some of them have gotten into some pretty intense content.

The only issues I've seen or experienced are occasional crashing, some lag when in or near a starting city, and things that, frankly, should be expected in an early access game.

Let me emphasize that bit: Early Access Game. Those words exist for a reason. Expecting an Early Access game to not have bugs is like expecting water to not be wet, and complaining that it is.

I've been playing a little bit of Ark - which I came to after checking out DnL and rather enjoying it. Ironically, I find that DnL runs far better on my system in its current stage than Ark does. That's kinda weird to me, but there you go. Ark is interesting, but I find it certain aspects of it (nothing to do with performance) to be kinda annoying. The constant pooping noises gets old fast, for example.

I find it weird how outraged people are acting over bugs in an early access game, when there are AAA games from well-known, award winning developers that are notorious for their bugs upon release... Bethesda, anyone? Yet people take those bugs in stride, deal with them, create community patches for them, and go on to enjoy the games nonetheless. Bugs in an early access game, though? Outrage! Unacceptable!! Stay away!! Come on, people.

I honestly hadn't paid much attention to DnL - Early Access combined with the ARK connection completely turned me off. But the video looks pretty awesome. For a crafter/home owner type player, this might scratch that itch.

Played for 2 weeks with over 100 hours and found it more promising than any other fantasy survival game to date, even Conan Exiles. Yet, that's the key word "promising". It's still plagued by significant lag, even on less populated private servers, bugs, exploits, unfinished content, and a horrible building system. Yet, if these minor issues are dealt with and polished this survival game is ripe for appealing to open world rpg and mmo players alike who've been neglected in recent years.

Only person that seems to be outraged here is you...
