Hey guys, I'm currently in the mood for a good space game. I'm open on genre. Which modern game offers the best experience? I've been considering Stellaris, Elite: Dangerous and No Man's Sky so far. NMS seems pricey at $60 on Steam, though. Thanks for any info!

Stellaris lets you create your own species, down to the government type and ethics (i.e. how accepting they are of alien races living among them), the look (and there are tons of mods out there for the species frames), the name, even their ideal habitat. And that's all before you even generate the map and start the campaign. It's a pretty cool strategy game.

I watched a review of this. So many dead, little green men!
I`m also playing Everspace, a nice space rogue like shooter

Elite Dangerous is more about space with the occasional moon walk.

It features instructions on how to download the original game and their mod. I would play through the singleplayer campaign before messing with the mod as it the mod makes singleplayer unplayable.

My other recommendation would be Elite Dangerous. There is a large portion of people who use keyboard/mouse but it takes a lot of customization+fiddling with settings to get it to your liking. Personally I use a controller, but it isn't really required.
It isn't really action packed, but (and this is what I've read it similar as)...Euro/American Truck Simulator...BUT IN SPACE...so if you don't like euro/american truck simulator (its very relaxing to me, but not for everyone), probably best to skip it. Unless the fact Elite Dangerous is in space and that makes it up to you.
