The point is to enjoy yourself I believe. I am not a very religious person as lets put it this way: If there is no heaven and someone spent a long time of their life practicing their religion, then they would've lived a wasted life.

The meaning of life is whatever you decide it is. There is no way to be objective about such a question.
To most Western people, the meaning of life is to collect as many material objects as possible or to amass wealth or fame or some other egocentric goal.
My personal philosophy is to make a concious effort to embrace the truly incredible odds against which you exist and appreciate the life you have and the people you love in a world where human life is cheapened by religions that foolishly and childishly insist that this is the crappy part before you go to heaven.

Well no one knows .It certainly is not to be the most powerful or richest .This is a practise which just shows how little we progressed in thousands of years along with the ability to keep killing ourselves .
But hey when we die out.Its either another existance(hopefully permament this time) or nothing.

ok seriously thats a dumb question to ask if u think about it casue just liver ur life out have fun, play games, eat ur fav foods, have kids with a beutiful woman, watch those kids grow up and theyll do the same thing its just really a process and theres nothing to think about u just need to live life happiliy and enjoy it and if u still think u need find out to that question ask god....(or lucifer) whichever one it is u worship or believe is ur real god to me its (god) obviously but just ask whoever it is u see when u die...

I was actually watching the movie Equilibrium the other day and this exact thing came up. Not that movies are the authority on philosophy but "existing to continue existiance is a circular definition," at least according to the movie That's a no no in philosophy.
The movie is about a society that takes drugs to supress emotions and of course people fight it. They question why they are alive if they have no feeling and come to the conclusion that all they do is make sure the race continues to exist. So, without feeling life is meaningless.
Just a movie (recommended btw). I have no answer to the question myself
