Phoenix Labs is still hard at work on their next patch, Forge Your Legend (which launches today) and preparing for the Open Beta phase of their development cycle. We got a chance to sit in on vid call with the team to find out what changes fans can expect to see from the update as well as what can expect to pop up in game over the next couple of months.

    "Open Beta Looms" They plan on early 2018 (and we know how good dev's are at keeping dates) you can say it looms in january at the very earliest

    Top 3 on Twitch? lol cs:go dota2 PUBG Hearthstone had the day off ? I see like 3 people streaming the game. Its a great grate game though i regret buying into Fortnite instead of Dauntless. I got 3 free keys but regardless i am buying a founders pack. Every time i am back from a hunt i think now what ? Hunt again ? Again ??? Hell yea !!! Its a weird feeling i should be bored but i am not. Anyway top 3 twitch ? Lmao

    Yeah, every time I get an email from them and it's not a beta key so I can try it I get sad.

    Yeah let's go into beta right around monster hunter world release. See ya dauntless. I expected an earlier date. Monster hunter will beat you into the ground.

    No enough of a game there yet.  Much like absolver it will get old fast.

    They deserve credit for this when the rest of the industry is smashing boxes into our faces.

    Agreed, I'm actually somewhat interested in this game now... of course it still depends on the gameplay and overall monetization, but in my book at least it's now a 'should try' instead of a 'meh, pass'.

    I was interested until Monster Hunter World was announced, now I don't really care. Good luck to the team though, they're going to need it to face down the juggernaut that is Capcom's #2 franchise.

    People talking about Monster Hunter like this is a competition.
    I don't want MH to "destroy", "beat" or whatever you guys say trying to start a fanboy war.

    What is important is for this game genre to be successful so we can get more games like this in the future.

    So yeah, i hope that both Monster Hunter (which i am a big fan since a kid) and Dautless will have great support from the community (if they turned out to be good games) and be successful, that way companies will not be afraid to make more similar games in the future.

    The game was #3-5 on twitch only for launch of CBT for 1-2 days and only because of the "paid" big name streamers that were on those days. Then after 1 week it was #100 on twitch and then nobody at all streamed it after that the following weeks til now(less than 100 viewers total). Most veteran players stopped logging in, so they gave away over 100,000 keys in the past 1.5 months alone. The game was delayed and has received a mediocre response from us that have played a while now. We are all disappointed with very few updates in closed beta, this event this week is at least something to do as they added not 1 behemoth or weapon from alpha all the way til now.

    This article is very misleading saying its been some huge unexpected success.

    doesn't help when dauntless is extremely lacking in every department and Monster Hunter is a solid franchise with years of improvement and evolution of mechanics and is THE creator of the hunting genre.
