Played when it first came out... had some promise but a ton of bugs and lag.  I'll have to load it up and see how it is now.

See this proves that games do eventually leave Early Access (EA).  Good luck to everyone at Industry Games.

Been jumping in every once in a while. Right now the only issue is the population, but with even a few more people online it's a blast!

    This is a dead game.

They have been averaging less than 10 players online since feb 2017.

The devs basically gave up and said - lets launch it and call it done.

Had huge promise but was too buggy and unfinished early on.
Ain't you a little ray of sunshine. Played it lately for actual, you know, substantive criticism instead of just casual perusal of the Steam charts? LOL

    I've been with MMORPG.com since 2004.

No Offense 'Kano but you seem to think your Opinions should be followed by everyone else.

Not everyone likes the games that you like, not everyone plays the games the same way you do.

Sure..Opinions are fine, but never try to force them onto others.

If you don't like a game, don't try to make others "Not" like it just because you don't.

The "I don't like this game so others should not play it either" mentality looks bad.

Why did you say that? I don't see the relevance.. it's like you put that in there to appear superior and that's exactly what you just accused someone else of doing.. even though they didn't.

  • TheDarkrayneTheDarkrayne Member EpicPosts: 5,297
Steam page says this game be played solo. Can you do the dungeons solo if you have to?

    Well, GRATZ to them !!!

If you didnt know Industry Games is bunch of most friendly, passionate, community involved developers I have ever seen.

The game itself is very ambitious, and its probably a wet dream of any D&D and MMO player.

Population may increase with it leaving early access. I actually have this on my Steam wish list and was waiting for launch status because I almost never buy early access. I think the only game I ever got in early access was Grim Dawn.

Need a trial first before I buy this again. Tried during EA but had to refund as my fps was so low it was unplayable. I'd imagine it's more optimized now, but I'm always unsure with newer PC stuff like this as some don't work even when I meet the recommended specs these days.

Seems silly to call a game dead that just had its official launch.  If the gameplay is good, other people should start showing up.  My son and I both own a copy so I'll be making time to jump back into it soon.

Ok - lets revist this in a week.

See how the numbers are? Fair?
You think a week is enough time?  I'm thinking a month.  If there's still only 10 to 15 people playing at any one time a month from now, then I'd agree the game is in trouble.
I agree. These early access games sort of fall off the radar for people because they are "not done" at the time people start playing.

I know that whenever I try early access I have no intention of fully playing until launch. I try it out, give feedback, see where it goes.

I've actually purchased this game in early access so now will try again it now that it's done.

Developer quote from the Steam forums, just in case anyone is wondering about this:

    "Hey,

Our plan for the game is and always will be a one time fee. No Microtransactions or paid DLC on this game. No monthly sub. You get what you get. Expansions (which we dont have a plan for at this time) might be at a charge but it would vary based upon amount of content. Hope this helps.

Look I like the game, yes I played it last night - its completely dead.

Facts are bad I guess, if they are deemed negative I guess we should not bring up factual data?

    Ok.

The game is great guys, loads of players are playing - its so awesome!
    ehm.

I mean if you want to play a solo game - just load up Skyrim, its way better gameplay than KnH too
In fact waiting for Skyrim VR. Would be the 1948th version I'll be playing.

I noticed the rather large update a couple of days ago. Will have to get back in and have another look.

I played it quite a bit when it first went into EA and it was rough but fun.

Which is a complete turn around from what they said when it first went in to EA. Any and all future updates or expansions were to be included with the initial purchase. Or, at least it was supposed to be that way for the "Founders." But, since we can't get the founder items anymore I wouldn't be surprised if we also have to pay for any expansions. I'd say they're in a bad way for money at the moment. Trying to get all the EA purchasers to fork out for an expansion before long might give them a boost.
What are you going on about? The quote clearly says they have no plans for an expansion at the moment. Updates ARE included. Free content is still coming.

Your blatant hate streak so far also has me doubting whether they really told founders all expansion were included.

I'm not doubting what you said about the founder rewards. I can see on the Steam forums that it's a problem. That's not acceptable and you have a right to be annoyed about it.

I'm not going to dig up old quotes or try to convince anyone that expansions (if there ever were to be any) were to be included in the original purchase. I know it was said and that's all that matters to me.

As far as my blatant hate, I don't know where your getting that. I'll admit that I'm a cynical person who sees the bad side of everything, but I genuinely would like to see this title do well.

They may not currently have a plan for an expansion. But, this is a company with a single product at the moment, one that has probably not seen a lot of sales in over a year now. If sales don't pick up with this launch then they are going to have to look at ways to make money. Providing a paid for expansion in the hopes that those already invested will buy it is an obvious way to go about it.
Well, if they did say it then they might follow through with it. The developer was replying to someone who wasn't a founder.

Much as some gamers dislike hearing this, proper monetization is a necessary component to successful game delivery and optimization.  Too much and the company is deemed "greedy", too little and the company goes broke.

Setting the "right" price for any product has always been a thing. Finding the sweet spot has always been one of the keys to success.

The only "new" development in gaming is finding creative ways to hide the true (eventual) cost.
