Mmorpg with a cool craftsystem

Hi,
I just got a bit tired of WoW, so I'm looking for a new challenge in mmorpg-land. I'm looking for a game that has a very good craftsystem. Much like the Wish beta had. I really loved the complexity of all these crafting skills.

Everquest 2 probably has the deepest crafting around right now ... it's a full game, really, just as much as the combat side of the game is (which people either love or hate depending on how much of a full game they want crafting to be).

Another one with a good crafting system is The Saga of Ryzom.

Star Wars Galaxies, had the best crafting system easily of any mmo. But now its a pale shadow of its former greatness. Still likely to be better than most though even in its current state.

1.star wars galaxies-very diverse, player run economy, vendors, large houses, harvestors that work while you are off line ,loads of crafting professions.

2.Everquest 2- very complex and interactive crafting.

3.UO- the long time champ of crafting until SWG showed up.

    I go for SWG if i were u .

I'm downloading the trial now of EQ2 and The Sage of Ryzom. I played Star Wars galaxies when it came out and I didnt really like it. It's just not my cup of tea.
Anyway, I hope the sage of ryzom and eq2 have what I need :)
    Thx

EQ2 has the most fun and in depth crafting system with it being like the other half of the game!

Takes just as long as adventuring and it involves you and makes you click buttons depending on the quality of the item :)

BTW the trial only shows you a tiny bit of the crafting, you'll get the basic feel of it but you have to get past lvl 3/4 of crating lvl b4 you have to involve yourself into it :) As the first few levels you just dont do anything.

Plus there are artisan quests after the trial in the cities :)

I don't think anything out there comes close to the crafting in Wish beta. Come to think of it, there isn't a game out there that comes close to Wish Beta. <------- note the period

Though i totally disagree. What has this post got to do with finding the original poster a mmorpg ?

Or do you know a way to bring back wish from the dead.

I haven't played it, but I'd put Horizons on your checklist for potential games. Everything I've heard about it stresses the depth of its crafting system. As I said, I don't have personal experience with it, but its crafting system was supposedly the core element of its engine, rather than the more common PvE or PvP emphasis. I assume they still have a free trial going, so it's something to take a look at if that's your area of interest.

Yeah I'd rank Horizons Crafting system just below SWG's. Then EQ2. If Crafting is your bag SWG and Horizons have the best crafting systems around. EQ2 is a close 3rd. I haven't played it in a long time but from what I've heard the crafting hasn't gotten any worse and the adventuring has gotten better so HZ could be a pretty solid game though it suffers from a small playerbase right now.

if u play a game just to craft then its horizons as u have to hunt to get crafting stuff u get no item drops just crafting mats drops. That ruined the game for me.

Ok... I think I'll like horizons. But are there still people playing it? I heard that the population there is quite low these days...
