Why are "Legends of Aria" not on top 10 mmorpg Hype ladder it has a rating of 7.80 now??? They are now planning for it to be a full fledged sandbox mmorpgm, U0 HYPE FUCK YEAH, finally a game that comes pretty darn close to what UO was, Old school is the new school, it will always be like that, we got back to what works with better adjustment and improvements, but u cant change mans liberty, and thats what all these new shitty mmorpg ive been forced to play since UO,EQ,DAOC, vanilla wow/tbc have taken away from us, like we can't think for our selves. Quite a lot in development and different people have different tastes. Not to mention a lot of people seem to feel new games need the best flashiest games (myself excluded).

That's true, but damn, the let down of all these new flashy mmorpgs has been massive, I dont demand much "Just a game that doesn't insult my intelligence, a game thats really challenging pve wise and brutal pvp like old school UO. A game where they dont nerf every single utility or beneficial stuff  and the "fun taken away" Running around as mage where all ur spells are nothing but evocation magic is soooo fucking borring, depletes immersion completely. Things needs to be rare again like really rare, powerful magic, items, fable, legendary or whatever, possible and gives huge benefit, but rare as fuck and op as fuck, yes give it to me, even tho i might never get it but ill farm for it for 10 years, no problem, "this glogg is hitting me hard now...

Personally, I feel game development is in a difficult spot across the board (not just mmo related) and is only going to get more difficult. The general direction is publishers want to make whatever will generate the most money long term, so everything they develop they will want micro-transactions in them. Tacking onto that, they want people to continuously spend, so we have loot boxes. Developers on the other hand are all across the spectrum in terms of quality vs income. You do have devs that want to make great games just because they want to make great games and you have those that just want to use keywords so they can build on the gaming community's desperation for a title that can 'save' the genre. Its kind of hard to differentiate each type because you have some really intense con-artists (those who have 'projects' to a workable enough state to make a trailer/run some gameplay footage then say the project ran out of money a few months down the line when they get bored running the scam) and then you have those that legitimately run out of money because they want to add more things but cannot plan properly financially.

The point is, the gaming community has always been small compared to other entertainment mediums and is being stretched thinner and thinner each year. Its like a hydra continuously growing heads without not as many falling off. So some things either get lost in the chaos or people just get exhausted from too many things in the works. I kind of miss the days of not knowing anything about a game until it was a few months until release. The general public honestly doesn't need to know about a game 1-2+ years in advance.

That is actually spot on! But man, there are so many just like me who have been lurking in the shadows for years and years just waiting for someone take the step in the right direction. I think personally Visionary Realms (Pantheon..) And those making Legends of Aria are doing it right, hell maybe camelot unchained will suprise us all. We just gotta be patient, but waiting almost 20years for a good mmo has been a long wait, all the asian ripoffs (nothing against asian mythology, if implemented right) Have dragged this into a graphic contest with no content! For me a real High-fantasy mmorpg is based of Dragon lance, d&d, forgotten realms, and for new games to implement it as they see fit I am fine with that, just dont go over the top with wierd little anime cutebears, floppy ears, half teenporn and my little pony land crap! I'll be good! We need the old ruleset back, feels like pve has gone into a flux, 2 shot a dragon but a fucking hamster 1shots u cuz? U know its a hamster and it lives in this level 110 area... wtf?

Yo i agree! With both of you! I am silently waiting for a real high-fantasy mmorpg that will carry the legacy of the old! Meanwhile I’ll live my life.. not spending a fkn dime on these trash IPs , might try vanilla WoW just for the lolz but doubt it’s a place u will actually invest your precious time in and feel you’re getting rewarded, as there is nothing to get excited about “it’s just vanilla” with no future.
