Trion Announces End of Service on March 5th - Devilian - MMORPG.com

Devilian News - Trion Worlds has announced that it is sunsetting Devilian on March 5, 2018. The decision was made cooperatively between Trion and Bluehole Ginno. Servers will remain on 24/7 through the final day and be packed with bonus experience, gold, gems, Enigma keys and flower drops. In addition, Patron Pass has been turned off and recurring subscriptions will end at the time of closure. Credit sales are also suspended, though anyone with remaining credits can purchase store items at 70% off.

    Honestly, I saw this coming when the game was announced but Trion loves to make money off of suckers so I can't blame them from trying to get blood from a stone (from a business perspective at least).

    I wouldn't say Trion ruined it. It honestly was just a bad investment. It was poorly received in the east before it was announced to be published by Trion so this was bound to happen. Not to mention Lost Ark is slated for this year (I think) and whatever NCSoft is working on, which is another isometric title, so this game was just going to be drowned out anyway. Trion is smart-ish (not always) which is why they are trying to do Rift classic now instead of next year when WoW Classic will probably be live (although I'm thinking more towards Fall 2020 on WoW: Classic since that's when BFA will probably die out content wise). Also Archeage is getting some kind of Remastered servers either this year or next year so, they do have moves in place I suppose.

    It speaks in droves on how little players are left as they are doing the transfers by hand via customer service.

    I actually really liked this game when it first hit, but boy it didn't take long to go south.  The population decline was quicker than I had ever seen it before.  It was a fun enough game at its core, but with Trion responsible for it.....yuck.

    I liked the mobile game too, but that one is shutting down as well.  I think Gamevil had it, don't remember.

    Could have been a better game, but it wasn't. Must've just been a fast cash grab for them. If people would stop dumping money into these types of games they would stop making them.

    Saw it coming from the beginning and called it right away.

    The game died in its own country of origin (Korea). Bringing its carcass to the west was not going to fool anybody. Not even its own creators cared enough, why would we care?

    It was fun little game, just it couldn't survive having titan competitors like Path of Exile, Warframe and brazilion other free games. RIP.

    You can also try Tera as well. Its more access since its free and you can get to cap on a character in about 2-3 days I think (probably faster).

    What bugs me is when game fail n the East then get dumped in the West. It seems like some many games come here like this.

    Sorry for all those people who bought those $100+ founder packs for this game.

    What's the next game of theirs to go?

    If I was still playing any Trion games I'd think twice about spending money on on any of em, especially Atlas Reactor or Rift and maybe even Defiance. I think AA and Trove would probably be the last holdouts cause they have the most profitable p2w.

    Funny that. Just yesterday they announced a new Rift server, Rift Prime. No lootboxes, not a lot in the store, etc. Sub based...
