Also my first mmo as I started playing RS: Classic when I was 7, fond memories. I've tried to get back into RS3 several times and it just feels so empty compared to it's height. While it's nice they appeal to both RS:2(old school) fans and RS:3 fans the population is literally split in half.

actually the community is more leaning to osrs, usually 70k is on osrs and 30k ppl play rs3. EOC killed the game for most.

Such nostalgia watching this footage. My MMO training wheels! Completely understand someone playing this for first time in 2018 feels underwhelmed, but you have to understand 10+ years ago this was amazing , especially if it was your first MMO. I still think the questing in this game is some of the best. Glad it is still around and busy.

Jagex killed off RS3 before EoC with micro-transactions where you can buy in game currency, XP and other advantages in a game where you already pay a membership to access 90% of the game.

They were good at fixing bugs and exploits, introducing new content almost weekly but didn't do anything at all about the hacking of accounts, scamming, luring (tricking players into a pvp area and killing them) and botting which was a serious issue for many.

Was my favourite game for many years but too many bad changes and lack of support against all the things that destroy good games made me decide to quit.

They turned a unique game into world of warcraft bit by bit to try to appeal to more players.

Used to love Runescape. Tried to get back after a long hiatus but their recovering account/character system is such a pain I gave up in the end.
