How is Star Trek: Bridge Crew?

Hey guys,
Has anyone played Star Trek: Bridge Crew, especially the non-VR version? Is it a decent experience? I watched an IGN review, and they said it's a pretty shallow experience. I'm wondering if recent updates have changed that.
