Is it illegal to look at bug sites? Does Square have any sort of code that can track if I am reading an exploit and dupe site for Final Fantasy XI out of personal curiousity? I do not plan on cheating any, I just came across http://exploitsrus.home.insightbb.com with some FFXI exploits and clicked it just to see what was on the other side.

Square/Enix certainly has no way of knowing whether you're looking at third-party websites or what you do there. Attempting to actually exploit a bug could well be another matter, however, since then you're interacting with their servers. Frankly, the site stinks to high heaven; I'd be very careful even attempting to do business with them. Since I'd sooner slit my wrists than pay them money to see their "secrets", I don't know what they're like. But there's an awfully good chance that the "exploits" they give you are either nonfunctional or just poor advice on how to play the game. There's some chance that the exploits are designed to exploit *you*, by exposing your ID and password to their waiting eyes. And of course, you pay in advance before you see them. I'm sure they follow the First Rule of Acquisition: "Once you have their money, you never give it back." They may be too small for Square to ever notice them, but I 'spect that angry customers will start catching up with them. In a few months, the site'll be gone.
