BioWare developers were on hand yesterday to live stream a bunch of new content coming to Star Wars: The Old Republic in Update 5. The team showed off conquests, the return of the Ashara and Vector, as well as Izax background and gameplay.

5.8 on March 20 and 5.9 on April 24th. Nice to see 2 updates in relatively rapid succession. Maybe 6.0 is closer than we think.

That was what it was like watching the development of this game back in the day. Now you know how we felt. xD

This is great and all. But the only thing that will get me to sub again is a new expansion. Hopefully, that's not too long from meow.

Enjoyed every second just being logged in into original game, then one expansion worse then previous, less complex, less fun, more just movie, .... I will return with any expansion, still like it, but depending on quality of expansion this could be 1 month max or half year or more.

Some people complained that SWG wasn't Star Warsy enough; I think that was what made it great. With all the quality of life features, odd critters, unexplained architecture, the simple and unimportant character you started off as, It felt like a world you could virtually live in and not some overly saturated Star Wars diorama like SWTOR.

That is why the prequels were considered good at the time; it was Sci-fi without making it feel sci-fi. It seemed believable that that those places could exist somewhere. SWG captured that, SWTOR has not.

This shutting down is not getting you another SW mmo.  Especially not SWG 2.  Only reason you want it shut down is for spite to your fellow gamers that enjoy it.  SWG is gone, let it go.
