    Are you imagining this as a SPRPG, ARPG, Traditional MMO, or AMMO? Just curious.

    I'd do a very old-school low fantasy setting built on the culture and aesthetic of 1st and 2nd edition D&D. Like Hawk the slayer with the sort of atmospheric score that Tangerine Dream did for Legend and the Sorceror.
    Or, using the some of the themes you yourself mentioned I'd make an MMO equivalent of Arx Fatalis with a lot of unnerving cosmic themes. Like if Lovecraft dreamed up the underdark.

    My dream MMO is surprisingly very similar to the one you've described here. Except I'd put more emphasis on gun/ vehicles. Mad Max style.

    Something along those lines but current time setting might be the Elf Home series by Wen Spencer. Would like to see this setting made into a MMO.
    Will leave you to read the series to enjoy all the world in the books. I enjoyed the dragons that are like five year olds on a sugar rush.

    Reminds me of the Netflix series Elfstones of Shanara kind of. The world was so like this. I love the idea of magic and technology so much. Also Hive in your mmo let the player be able to mix the two. Real unique character creation.

    Shannara Chronicles is a VH1 show that ended up on Netflix after the seasons' run. It is not a Netflix Original.

    That setting is Shadowrun and there are 3 single player tactical RPG games on steam.
