Actually they are using UE4 - and "jiggle physics" (called jigglebone or soft body physics) is built into Uneal Engine - so they didn't need to invest any time for that.
The way Unreal Engine simulates this is by utilizing a spring joint skeleton/bone.
Well, the engine (it's UE3, not UE4) has PhysX rigid bodies phisics, but there are 1000 parameters to adjust, the collision bodies, material properties, amound of bounce, limits, angular movement, linear, twist, etc.
All this means changing parameters, testing it in the game, rectifying, re-testing... It's not as simple as telling the engine that this bone has physics and that's it.
The game has more things than the jiggle physics. I'm bad at explaining the game, but some features are battles with many bots at once, like this:

these videos are old, I have improved a lot of things since then. Adding new attack and damage animations, finishes, etc.
There are a lot of things already done, dialogs with the NPCs, inventory, etc.
There are aliens in the game, it's inspired by stories about the Anunnakis in the ancient Sumer. So there are flying ships and firearms, although at the moment we are working the "ancient" part of the game.
The development is slow, because I'm working alone in the game most of the time. Only a person is now helping me with the 3d models.
I had to learn many things in these 4 years, the engine, the programming language, 3d applications, modeling techniques, animation ... I already had some experience in 2D games, but almost all this has been new to me.
I'm thinking of a way to get the game out before it's finished, but being a game based on a story, I still can't find the way.
