Blizzard has announced that the next World of Warcraft expansion, Battle for Azeroth, will be released on August 14th. The announcement came along with a brand new trailer showcasing the expansion's major features as well as new information about the physical collector's edition (it's AWESOME) and the digital deluxe edition.

Guess my signature image tells the tale: For the Dark Lady and for the Horde! On a related side note, the physical collector's edition looks amazing.

No thanks, I'm done with WOW, they ruined leveling, I've loved the game for 12 years, but this is looking dated and hackneyed now...no new classes, a repugnant grind to obtain new tedious races...I'll return when they finally ditch subscriptions (if it ever occurs of course).

they ruined leveling a long time ago .. they made it a bit better now. but the state it was in before this scaling patch was laughable. it was like they forgot it was there a few expansions and just figured out it existed again xD

I can't wait! More mission table action! On a side note, bear druids will shine again (at least better than in Legion). BACK TO STAVES WE GO DRUIDS!

Bear druids actually got new animations. No more...pardon me...dry humping during idle phases and more mouth closed action! :D
Now if they'll just give 2-handed swords back to Frost DKs....

I usually hop back into WOW a month or 2 before the xpac drops to top off all my crafting and gathering skills, Any reason to even do so for BFA or is crafting still as useless as it has always been

Well, as always, they say things will improve, but this time there's actually reason to think that's true. Most professions have utility again in the form of adding perks to equipment, similar to how, for instance Blacksmiths could add a socket to gloves or a belt buckle for anyone.

First Aid is being rolled into Tailoring and something else too.

Really happy that it's coming out sooner than expected.

Also yeah the hype I've had for previous expansions isn't there anymore, but that's only because Legion was a genuine fail. In my opinion WoW is still the best MMORPG out there and with fixing all the mistakes they did with Legion I'm actually quite optimistic about this one.

Yeah, its almost as if Blizzard figured that the old stuff was too good to drop....like weapon enchants making a comeback (as if they should've left in the first place....Except DKs! lucky sons of....)

Actually, PvP is looking better this expansion -- outside of balance for the moment. Conquest is returning with players accruing Conquest points to use at a vendor to purchase gear. Honor talents are going to be unlocked account-wide and will be level-based rather than Honor Level based. Those three things right there make it brand new on one level. With Holinka gone, we may see better PvP in BfA. I hope so because I missed it in Legion since I opted out due to how awful it was (is).

The first aid change is interesting. I don't use bandages on my warlock. At least we got a heads up so I don't waste any more mats or money on it.
I was kind of annoyed by this change, but like you said at least I now know not to invest any time into it going forward.
I like that it was a separate system too, though I can live with it as part of Tailoring to give the profession utility and, honestly, it kinda makes sense. Blizzard...making sense!? What's WRONG with you! :D

PvP in Legion honestly felt like a 2 year beta test only to walk back half of the systems they tried to implement. I mean, I'm happy that they aren't keeping half of the legion pvp stuff but it does make you wont who really though some of that garbage actually sounded good in theory to begin with. Rngion.

Yep, agree 100%. On paper it sounds swell, but I'll reserve judgment until I try it for myself. I do, however, like the return of Conquest and the ability to buy the gear I want rather than have RNG lootboxes. :|

Is there anyone else that is getting the Warlords of Draenor (WoD) type vibe from Battle for Azeroth (BFA)? I have these feelings sometimes...call them hunches or instinct, (or maybe just common sense???). I have this feeling that BFA is going to be another expansion, just like WoD, that is widely considered to be a flop. Here's why...forced faction warfare. I know, I know, it's World of Warcraft (WoW). War is in the name. But I equate War and Warfare with Player versus Player (PvP) combat. I used to love PvP. I don't play PvP much anymore...but not because of any changes to PvP in the game. I just don't care anymore who's better. It's a game. It's not real. I've gotten older. I'm 41 and I just don't care to try to prove who's better by engaging in PvP. I want to relax, explore, and socialize with the friends I've made in game. I already have a full time career. I don't want to do additional work when I play video games. I can't really explain it well, but the story of War between the factions seems just as tiring as PvP to me. I don't care if you support Anduin or the Dark Lady. To each their own. Lets just eliminate the next big baddie that is threatening Azeroth (the Old Gods and/or the Void). I don't know, maybe I'm WAY off. Are there others that think the same? I know it won't change anything. It's Blizz's game and we're just along for the ride. I keep seeing all these For the Horde and For the Alliance type posts and I find myself just shaking my head. I also remember years ago thinking that Free to Play was bad for gaming in general. That something bad would come of it because companies had to make money. It was just a hunch, a feeling I had. Now we have lock boxes and in-game gambling throughout the industry. Sorry for the rant.

TLDR - I have a hunch that BFA is going to be about the same as WoD.

Yeah, the "perks" were good in theory (and definitely some I would've killed to have in pve or have back in some cases lol). I kind of like the approach they are thinking of doing just to pick the ones you want so that'll probably have me pvp again. Oddly enough, Legion was the one exp I rarely pvp'd outside of the pvp wq which you rarely saw any resistance from outside of the occasional overgeared bored raiders.

WoW 2 I'd play. I can't stomach cartoons and tab target combat anymore. Best of luck to those who still can though.
