Heh guys

I'm planning a motorcycle trip and I'm in the route planning stage.

I'll be leaving Vancouver BC heading straight for Washington state. I'll be imedietly heading east through
Winthrop, Grand Coulee dam, Spokane into Coeur d'Alene Idaho. From there I'll be heading south through Utah to
the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. Then into Arizona where I want to hook up with Hwy 66 to LA. From LA I'll make
my way back to Vancouver sticking to the coast.

I'm planning on leaving in a couple months and plan on spending 2-3 weeks on the trip (whatever strikes my
fancy).

I'm hoping some of you who live and know the areas I'll be travelling near might be able to point me to the
most scenic routes and/or places to see or eat that aren't your regular marketed tourist destinations.

Your knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely

Floyd

Route 66 is chopped up and the route is mostly buildings falling apart. At the Grand Canyon there is a sky walk owned by one of the Indian Tribes you need to book an appointment in advance. It extends into the canyon on a glass platform. It's between the South Rim and the Hoover Dam.

I'm assuming when you say "drive up the California coast" you mean HWY1? A stretch of that from either Morro Bay or San Simeon to Carmel is windy, foggy, rainy and has rocks falling on the road all the time. I would recommend/suggest HWY 101 for that part of CA for your own safety.
