Last week, TheHiveLeader was invited to play Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen with the developers, Visionary Realms. Their goal was to defeat one of the mini-bosses in Black Rose Keep, one of the dungeons in the game. What did TheHiveLeader think of his time in this upcoming indie MMORPG? Let's find out!

Classic.
I enjoyed the stream as well as this video and "yes" this game is for me as well. Now "I" have something in my eye ...

But that's just me. I have to actually play it before I form my opinions.

This isn't BDO, but I don't need that level of graphic to enjoy a game as long the art style is spot on, which in this case is.
For what I see, it's basically Everquest, which is a good thing.
Combat is boring to watch, but it's fun to play.
I just hope they don't launch like Vanguard though.
Over the years since AC and then WoW, I have enjoyed the games with less but more meaningful skills on your bar at once. ESO and GW2 I like. I am not sure I can go back to tab targeting.
Not too sure about the encounters here either. BDO was way too easy with regular mobs. Quite boring to me. This game looks to go the other way too far as well. Somewhere in between is what I enjoy. Asheron's Call did it well IMO. You could take on a lot of mobs but if you weren't careful you could die quickly. You could also find yourself just getting worn down with no escape.
But like others mentioned above I really don't know until I play a game for myself. Wait and see I guess.
EDIT: BTW I do however love corpse runs. I have some great memories from AC corpse runs. I like the risk feeling of should I or shouldn't I try this? More recently it was one of the things I enjoyed in Ark: Survival Evolved.
+1 internets for member-berries, though.
I'm ok with it. Maybe I'll be in the minority of players but if they keep it then I wouldn't complain. And, since I plan to go dps, probably mage, I'll be doing some sitting most likely.

I've done it many times, it doesn't bother me at all.
Also I don't mind people spamming chat asking for a rez.
I remember many times I would temporary leave my group to rez a poor soul begging for it.
That's a MMORPG at its best, social interaction, isn't that what we want from a MMO?
sososooo hyped for Panthon:Rise of the fallen. MMOs lately just are not giving me that same connection the old EQ style did. So tired of going through content alone and not needing a group or even a friend.
Every Pantheon gameplay video i watch just gets me more and more excited, it looks like things are being done the right way. There is still a lot of info im curious about but its alpha and ill wait, the main one being Endgame content. So thanks for the awesome videos TheHiveLeader and Pantheon Devs.
I believe Bards will be added with an expansion as it is a very popular choice.
They didn't want to end up with 50% Bards at launch.
So yes, that's large component of what these games are about!

actually in a recent interview, they pretty much confirmed bards will be in by launch, unless something goes terribly wrong with the game development they'll be a playable class when the game launches.
Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
I don't remember what they said exactly but I don't think they confirmed that. Iirc it was more like "bards are in a good place now for testing and that makes a launch release a good bet"
It is the inconvenience that creates and expand the social aspect of a game.
Need your corpse recovered? Shout in OOC
Need a rezz? Again shout in OOC.
Need a teleport? Ask a mage or druid.
Need a buff? Bug the appropriate class in any city or hub before adventuring.
In modern MMOs players can do all the above by themselves, so how can people expect MMORPGs to be Social?
In EQ players were selling Buffs and Teleports in cities.
I was playing WoW Classic recently (is it a taboo talking about this here?) and the market for Summoned Food and Teleports were flourishing.
MMORPGs need more of this emerging game-play and less instant gratification features.
Also why is the focus on dungeons? Why are group fights not happening in the open world?I hope this doesn't mean instances and lack of places to group fight so they stick everyone in an instance. Pretty much as usual a video that really shows and tell us very little.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
And one of their first streams was all outside.
This is old footage from 2 years ago but "outside stuff".
