Based on general reception of Trion, I don't think the fans of this game would be very happy to have Trion as a publisher.
Right now the game seems to be working pretty well on a technical level. Still this is still an alpha meaning the game is not feature complete and there are lots of things missing from it so don't buy it unless you want to test. The RPG elements - both itemization and character development, are barebones - they are a template and a placeholder. In fact there are only two weapon types - pistols and rifles. There are quests and some of them are interesting but don't expect a fleshed out story. The combat is also pretty basic - running around and gunning feels okay but it gets old very fast because of the limited array of weapons and lack of character abilities.
That's disappointing. I can image they might need the money though. Will have ot give this a try again myself. So many games to play and try right now. Still no MMORPG I'm looking forward to though.
>_> ?
Game has had an Early Access price for over a year now. They put in the steam description and even in the early access description to not buy the game if you aren't comfortable with playing an unfinished product. Hell, right when you log into the game for the first time, it pops up a warning stating it's unfinished and that people should just wait to buy the game till it's official release. The current purchase options on steam were only there for people who wanted to help fund the game through it's development.
Unfortunately, there was a little hiccup with a rogue dev that caused them to re-code the entire client. Thus we haven't gotten an update for over a year as this update preview you see now was what they were working on for this entire year. The zone outside of the city is entirely different from what was available before. Plus there were load screens to get into different parts of the world. Now it's actually an open world / zone. Game feels a lot better. Still a ton of work to do; but the patch shows they actually care about working on and progressing the development of the game.
