Ammunition?

DarkwarlordDarkwarlord Member Posts: 76

I suggest you get some sort of Ammunition but its free to get more, basically so it could clear up zones for short times like if a popular grinding site has to many people there they might need more ammo thus making areas less crowded.

Just an idea.

Played ---> Earth and Beyond, Everquest, Planetside, Star Wars Galaxies, City of Heros, Lineage II, Everquest II, Final Fantasy XI, Dark Age of Camolot, Guild Wars

Tried ---> Anarcy Online, Matrix Online, EVE Online, Asheron's Call, Ragnorock Online

Playing ---> World of Warcraft - 54 Orc Warrior on Doomhammer named Broly

I was wondering if there was limited ammo or not. Unlimited might be a good thing, it has its pluses.

AA has no ammunition cos it would consume alot of ammo firing the front top and back weapons plus it would be time consuming to go back and reload :)

apprieciate ideas tho some of the hype meter comment are really nasty ... but they are wrong AA will be a great game :)

Ammo to an extent would be nice like an armageddon cannon with only 4 shots being able to be held at any one time and you have to buy or make each shot, but for a chain gun I will be unloading for about 15/16ths of my total play time no thx unless like 1000 shots was one clink (smallest amount of money)

I think Auto Assault is fine with the overheating system they have right now. Adding in an ammo system would make the game more tedious, as the overheat system is already enough. Having to worry about overheating and ammo at the same time while shooting 3 rapid-fire weapons just wouldn't be all that fun for me.

Also, the refire times are better for limiting those "doomsday" weapons than a set ammunition storage.

Well, your reasoning for it seems silly to me, but I like requisites in games like ammunition, gasoline, food, water, etc. It can be trivially easy to keep stocked and use, but adds a nice little element of realism, imho.

    When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

I admit it would add realism, but I'm never a fan of realism at the cost of fun.

As for clearing up over hunted zones, that will take care of itself once the game is a couple of weeks old. If you're judging by the hunting habits currently in the beta -- you have to remember how limited a portion of the whole game world is open right now. Of course many players are hunting the same mobs now because not a lot is open to be hunted.

Once full range of the world is open that will balance out to a manageable amount, and ND can set the spawn timers to even it out to not an issue.

Also, half the fun is just plain blowing sh*t up --
adding ammunition, especially if it costs anything at all, will put a damper on that, and be a HUGE hit to the crafters (who have to blow sh*t up to get commodities).

    All in all, no.
Ammo would just make for more tedium here.
If I want realism I'll turn the compluter off, in my games I want fun :)

Ammo would just slow down the fast paced combat they are aiming for. It wouldnt make it more fun.. and wouldnt make it more exciting.. so no ammo.

Yah and the crafters would get shafted.. so no ammo.

Disagree totally. Unlimited ammo is a cop out, bad game design. Also what about differenet ammo for different jobs ? AP, HE, APFSDS, HEAT and thats just 4 examples of REAL world ammo.

To much ammo will be used, thus making you halfta stop leveling/working on mission going back to town and reloading on, what happens if you in PVP arena or so on, and you run out, did you think about that one =P
