In the old days, I would do my research, then visit www.pricewatch.com to get the best deals on parts and put it together myself. That, of course was before liquid cooling, which is lovely, but a hassle to install. So, now that I'm more financially stable, I don't hesitate to buy my PC's from CyberpowerPC or Alienware, but I've always eyed OriginPC just to compare and I think my next upgrade will be with them. They offer good brand components and I hear lots of good things about the solidity of their builds. Unfortunately, my last two PC's from Cyberpower had issues with the "upgraded" case fans, where one or two of them would inevitably start making loud noises after 6 months and then fail in a years time.
Other than that, they've been solid. I would sometimes come across that with my own builds too, so no biggie there. I find the reduction in hassle and fear of system failure more than make up for the added cost of a pre-built system.
