Been following this game since I first heard about it. Good interview!

Wishing the team the best, and I hope they hit their targets. The game sounds exactly what I've been looking for for a long time. Yes, including the Isometric view!

Costs stand below estimates due to SpatialOS- have they shared any internal documents proving this?

They talk about redefining the entire concept of "dynamism" and tackling all the problems of sandbox MMORPGs at once (something they literally claim that no one else is even attempting), then later attempt to assuage skepticism by claiming they're not reinventing the wheel or attempting to be too ambitious. Contradiction intensifies.

That said: good luck to them.

Also been watching this for some time and like what I'm seeing/hearing. Definitely space for an isometric mmo for the western market, done right. This has a shot at being it.

    That sounds vaguely familiar...

Didn't SBS justify their CoE Kickstarter by claiming all their promises could be delivered due to the magic of SpatialOS ? Using it was supposedly going to save them vast amounts of money and development time. We all know what happened to that idea...

Do they consider the KS pledge packages to be "donations" or "pre-orders"? I.E what's their KS refund policy.

Am I reading this right, December 2018 launch? 6-months after KS? Seems rather ambitious, even for only an isometric MMORPG.

What is it with underfunded kickstarter mmorpg and practically impossible development goals. Last time I heard a game that promised alpha within 6 months it took the developer 1.5 years to reach it.

ANY game that having to buy + paying for premium is garbage in my book. what I try to say is, this game is garbage.

Looking forward to an isometric mmo! I will buy this on release, not sure about kickstarter...!maybe
  • itsoveritsover Member UncommonPosts: 353
here a tips, never kick start a game, wait until release, you will be happy that way.

Looks interesting. We'll see if it's worth playing at release. I'm done paying developers who promise the world, and deliver a bucket of dirt.

AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

Pvp in an isometric game is problematic.  One of the reasons I stopped playing UO.  I wish them the best, but I stopped doing kickstarter for MMO's a long time ago.

Just have to wait and see if they can make their overly optimistic dates.

For those that don't know, they said it was too expensive to run SpatialOS :P
... and the way we divide our game server up into dozens of different worker types meant that SpatialOS was particularly expensive for our use-cases. Our philosophy has always been about keeping our hosting fees low so we could pass those savings onto you. With SpatialOS, our hosting fees would have been more expensive, which would have forced us to increase our prices...
Unfortunately, it remains an expensive solution for us. To make sure we were prepared, we began looking for alternative technology that could fill any gaps left behind if we were unable to use SpatialOS for any reason.

Quoting anything from those yahoos at COE is an exercise in futility.  If that is not the most incompetent staff in gaming they are close.  I guess it is good for a laugh at least.

    Read the article.
Alpha 1 in six months and more pledging on their site. I heard it before.
