The latest Star Citizen: Around the Verse episode is out and about, this time with a core focus on Squadron 42. Sandi Gardiner and Chris Roberts introduce the episode before sending the show off where viewers "get a look at some of the core tech and assets being worked on for Squadron 42, and how they're factoring into development as well as the game itself".

MAGA
Let me correct that post which comes from a past era in gaming.
"Lets put the game into Early Access or give folks their money back Chris."
They've been saying that for years, how can they not have spoiler-free scenes by now? Is every scene a spoiler? And if it is what's the point of playing through the whole game when it's spoiled from the very start?
Any mention of a roadmap?

What it took to get here, and the future by the Global Head of Production Erin Roberts.

Erin was saying all that 18 months ago and we're not really any closer to getting the megaserver tech than we were back then.
Earlier this year Clive said they hadn't even started on it, he said they wanted to get single instance performing well before moving on to multi-instance and while single instance is getting better it's still got quite some way to go. It would be good if they could do it but I think they are a bit rash in claiming they are going to get X numbers of players in an instance when they haven't even started work on it....
Up to $188 million now!
Let's keep delivering patch with more gameplay, ships, locations and performance improvment as you did and take ours money
Only SQ42 is spolier free and they give us once a month vision of different aspect of core tech. Nothing weird.
Last Citizencon in 2017 give us a SQ42 slice of one hour with assets never sen before.
Star Citizen do have a roadmap on official site, just type in Google: Star Citizen Roadmap
Great thing the roadmap clearly shows it for 3.4 in December, then.

They do have 50 players not in one instance but in one single location right now in 3.2 PTU. So they can have even more in one single instance. So yes netcode is improving and OCS + Bind culling is not yet implemented (Q3)
..And this video depicting only mining prove that CIG is delivering what Backers are asking for... Mining has been already aclaimed in his first 3.2 iteration by players. CIG is delivering big patch every quarter. Adding more gameplay (salvaging, refueling, repairing...) + 21 new ships and Planet-Size city and so much...
EA cost as much to build their company to serve us the same FPS since a decade while making billions of $... go buy BF68 if you want and don't forget the season pass
Don't get crowfunding concept? No problem just wait till Beta or release.
That's true I forgot about Citizencon, but it makes me wonder why they are worried about spoilers now.
I was asking after the SQ42 roadmap not the SC roadmap, they had said it would be shown at the start of this year and I was wondering if there was any update on that.
With the way things are getting moved I'd be surprised if Q4 is a reality at this point. Take in-game ship purchases originally intended for 3.1, then 3.2 and now 3.3 or even later.
They want to give the impression that a lot of the game is done but they can only show you the smallest parts because they don't want to ruin the surprise. Good salesmanship. Which is why they don't have a decent road map to show.

Are they making things? Yes. Are they planning to release a finished product? No.
They are living life in luxury. Do a little bit of work. Have a little bit of something to show. Get paid lots of money. Go on vacation.
Finish? What does that word mean?
To all the gullible suckers giving their money away to them.
As it was said what is being worked on, is the ability to rent ships, what to me is a better solution for now as it would allow access to ships quicker and won't be much of one annoyance in the face of the data wipes or the grind-to-own.
At the moment it shows the work is on moving the whole ability to buy ship parts in-game, that seems to be related work to ships as well as things that until now were locked to the ownership of the item on the website.
@Octagon7711 @rpmcmurphy what more do you want? They have shown a slice of SQ42 in Citizencon last year, you seen how the story flows and how it plays to some extent.
I mean you realize that SQ42 is built on the same mechanics of the PU as well, so the full open-dev of the PU already shows what to expect from SQ42 (for what is shared).... that said, what remains is SQ42 specific work, so that work should be heavy on its storyline and locations, hence the spoilers argument is most reasonable, repeating myself again, the progress we see in the PU mechanics is also the progress of SQ42 we're not talking about an entirely different game.
The real complaint is the lack of the SQ42 roadmap that has still not been publicly published, but if it does I'm not sure how it does if they work on say FPS AI as it shows on the PU Roadmap it's obviously also a SQ42 feature so I do wonder how could such cope with the public roadmap. SQ42 has also been confirmed that it won't release this year, so it shall remain locked to the PU releases through the year.
If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.
now i'm going to the beach!
