Fuck the Ruskies :)  They cant be trusted .. Its most likely a spying source
Ah yes, especially compared to all the lovely companies and governments in the West who respect the privacy of their customers/citizens in full and have never engaged in any act of espionage whatsoever. :)

Another American company who is completely clueless about Europe by choosing one of the worst publishers for us. Talking about 2nd rank treatment. /shrug

Thanks but no thanks! Bye bye.
Which got me to thinking. Which publisher would be preferable? Seems like most are universally disliked.
You got a good point. Most of the European publishers are German, like Gameforge (frogster is part of it too now) or French like Orange (also terrible).

Codemasters are actually pretty good. They handled LOTRO really well during the first years, before Turbine took over when it went F2P.

Just don't know if Codemasters is still interested in publishing MMO's anymore. Don't think they have done so in a long while.

Blizzard would be a preferred candidate, as they seem to be open to publishing duties now by opening up their battle.net to other games, like Destiny 2.

But it seems Interprid isn't interested in quality service, as they went with the cheapest publishers they could find. :-/

I only know my.com for Skyforge. Based on that experience I'd prefer them compared to EA, Cryptic, Gameforge, NCSoft, Perfect World, and many others. Just my 2c.

my.com seriously? i think steam would be a better options. Choosing a bad reputation company as publisher is not a good idea.

I think this is an awful decision going with my.com and mail.ru. Surely their were far better alternatives than going with them? To be honest this has lost my interest in this game.

Interestingly enough, there have been few suggestions of who would be an acceptable alternative so far.

30% off the top with no real marketing support is likely one reason why that route wasn't chosen. (Yet)

Its funny because people say the same about gameforge, aeria, trion, perfect world and nexon. You would think that with so many people hating the service these companies provide they all would have gone defunct long time ago.

What do you even use a publisher for when it comes to gaming? Adverts?
Publisher's generally finance development, and handle marketing and release.
So different publishers around the world are all going to now finance a game that supposedly has the finance it needs already? I understand the marketing, but as I said in another post why not just run the servers from the US, why do you need a separate team here for development. Is it just for the different languages?

In Europe the difficulty in games is higher ( we like challenge more), the cash shop items are more expensive (we are richer) and we get updates 6 months later ( we are more patient).

On a more serious note, games in Europe have a LOT more language packs then in the US, German, French, Spanish etc. Also latency issues and probably lots of different rules and legislations for all the different countries.

    Kyleran on yours sincerely

'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'

Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

Wait so they crowd funded the development costs and then ran off and sold out to the publishers that wasn't / aren't interested in funding the development of new mmorpgs?

All's i can say is just another one to add to the list of reasons crowd funding isn't the best idea.

Guess the publishers are the winners here.

The point is that Steven Sharif stated MULTIPLE TIMES that the game would be self published.

This is now a proven lie AND the publisher is an absolutely toxic P2W pile of garbage.

EUROs kickstared a my.com game LOL!!!!!!!

I'll bet he didn't say "where" he would self publish.

Just more of his masterful word play.
