Lefties! Would you like a Razer Naga Trinity mouse for left handers?

BluefishBluefish Member UncommonPosts: 96
If so, read on. Razer are tempting us with a kickstarter for this mouse.

I'm not sure how well circulated this is, but I'd like to think there's more than 400 odd potential backers. I only found this today and
have backed it. It may not reach its target but if there is sufficient interest, perhaps Razer will produce it all the same.

Hell yeah, my current leftie Razor Death Adder is slowly dying on me, have been using it for 5+ years. Going to look into this. Thanks!

I dont know, i have been using right hand mouses for 3 decades now, and the naga for atleast a decade, i dont think using a mouse in my left hand would even feel natural to me, even being a lefty..

Same here, using a keyboard and mouse requires ambidexterity much like, say, playing guitar.  The motions are so foreign to your body when you start, you can really learn how to play both with either hand equally.

That said, good on Naga for providing options!

Wait, doesn't razer have a relatively large fanbase, and probably a decent amount of money? Why do they need a kickstarter for a left handed mouse? Just because of how niche of a product it will be?

I ditched razer several months ago after having 2 of their mice failed in less than 2 years (I had a hardware failure with their keyboard last year too).

I know there are folks out there running razer for year without any problems - for me personally I just don't trust their quality anymore.

    I switches to G502 - very happy.
I had a very similar experience with their equipment, essentially I hade one of their mice disintegrate in my hand. I have owned a few of their products and I never got any longevity out of them, so I am in the Corsair camp now (mostly) and I am really happy with their products.

If you want a new idea, go read an old book.

In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.

I wonder if it's because some people are just "hard" on the mouse and it just can't take it.

Since they came out I've only had two. The first one lasted me years. This second seems to be in it's second or third year. Can't keep track.

I'd happily use an alternative to the lefty Naga if it existed, but it doesn't - those side buttons are really useful and I'd rather retrain myself to use a mouse right handed than revert to a mouse that doesn't have them.

I too (as the threadstarter) agree it's really odd that they've done the kickstarter. My opinion is that the bean counters at Razer aren't interested in producing this mouse, but someone has taken the initiative and found a way of trying to gauge interest that suits the Razer execs. I hope that the KS campaign gets enough backing that they decide it is worth producing this mouse. Help us support this if you can.

Using the same mouse. Amazing product and paired with my Logitech Orion Spectrum keyboard I am set. Logitech is firing on all cylinders lately on the product front. Plus they have bought Astro and Blue over the past year. The future looks bright for Logi fans =)

Agreed @Panther2103 they are a big enough company to not need to do a crowdfunded project.

    G502 and G910 Orion Spark.

Very happy with the mouse and really like the Romer-G switches.

I'm left handed, but it's too late for me. Worked tech support long enough that swapping the mouse over and switching buttons every shift because of hot seating got old. That was even before ergonomic and gaming mice. Only time I wish I was using a left handed mouse is when I need to sign or draw something. Got used to right handed gaming mice, righty flight sticks, Strum guitar/bass left handed, finger pick right handed.

They, along with almost every other manufacturer, have gotten enough requests over time to know there is a demand. More lefties have just adapted to the restriction they set in place already and probably won't toss money at an idea. If they are still taking a loss at the 990K goal then I think we're done here. The left handed population has been rising since we stopped getting executed for being witches and shit. Do it with that future growth in mind on your own dime. Not by trying to get a bunch of people who already converted to convert back

Well, as they said, they've shipped out, over the past 6 years, a quantity of left handed mice equal to what they ship out in a day for right handed mice.

It costs money to set up production. They aren't going to make a product that's not worth making if they lose money. I'm also guessing that their manufacturers have minimums so that's why the kickstarter is so high.

You may be right. I am a bit bigger, (fit not fat for clarification) than your average human and I know I putt stresses on things that others do not. I might just need a more robust mouse/KB. I won't say Razor makes junk, they just make stuff that can't hold up to me!

Ahh makes sense, I read it but relatively quickly so I may have missed that part. I hope they can hit their goal as it would be cool for left handed users to be able to use this type of mouse. But it isn't looking too good right now with only 7 days left and less than 100k out of 900k

I'm not sure it's been advertised well enough. I'm fairly active on forums, be they for MMOs or tech, and have been looking for a replacement for my old left handed naga on and off for the last year or so, and I only found this KS thing today, 22 days late.

i wouldn't even know how to use a mouse left handed :pensive:
wasn't even aware it was an option. i use mouse +keyboard, guitar, hockey stick etc. same as righties.

I had fun once, it was terrible.

I am too and used a normal mouse for over a decade. Then I switched to a special leftie one and never looked back, the difference was night and day and so much more relaxed. Mind you, I only write with my left hand, everything else I do with right, leftie mouse turned out to be perfect for me.

As for the KS project, I backed it but its never going to succeed, no advertising, too late, too high a sum asked etc. etc.

Link to Facebook page that got it started  Over 10k likes. Amazingly they didn't go on to link the kickstarter page.

I am left handed.  But after using a mouse with my right hand for close to 3 decades switching to a left handed mouse just seems pointless now.  Not only would I have to train my left hand to use the mouse.  I'd also have to train my right hand to use the keyboard.  Good luck to those that want this though.

    I've got the straight edge.

I did not know socialists needed their own kind of mouse, does it come with a Che Guevara mat? ;)
