A Sneaky Intruder...

This story is kinda long.. Just happened in the last 48 hrs tho
So my sister's boyfriend and his family are vacationing in Wisconsin with their relatives and they asked my sister to watch over their house and feed their pets while they are gone. My sis works til 11pm and she calls me when she is leaving so I can meet up with her at her BF's house cuz u know.. 17 yr old girl alone at night... not really safe where I live (or anywhere for that matter).
So last night she came home first and got me, then we left for her BF's house together in the same car. Their house is pretty big.. 3 stories, pretty fancy lookin.. and it is set about 100 yards back in the woods. As we approached she noticed that the Garage door was wide open and she had closed it in the morning after she fed the animals. Instead of pulling in the driveway we drove ahead a little ways and through the clearing of trees and bushes we saw that the back door to the garage was closed, and it was left open with a heavy toy keeping it open in the morning (so the cat can go in/out of the garage).
My sister started freaking cuz she watched alot of murder movies and stuff yesterday, so she called her BF in wisconsin and told him she thought someone had been messin around in their garage and then she called one of their neighbors with whom we are friends with. I told her we should just go check it out but she was pretty hesitant. We drove around for like 15 minutes before we returned, we pulled all the way up the driveway when we noticed that the back door to the garage was now propped open with the heavy toy there, the same way it was in the morning, but 15 minutes ago the door was shut.
We pulled out and went to their neighbors house (our friends) and there we called the cops. They came and checked it out and found nothing suspiscous, then they called us again and we went over there and checked it out ourselves. It appeared as though nothing was missing, except the spare key that their family kept high on a shelf under a bottle.
So today my mom wouldnt let my sister go over there in the morning, so an hour ago me and my father went over there together to feed the animals and make sure everything was alright. When we got there the main garage door was shut like it should be, but the back door to the garage that was propped open with the toy was only cracked open now. My dad and I went in the garage and the door from the garage into the house was unlocked, but im 100% sure that my sister locked it before we left last night. I went inside with my dad and we walked around but everything seemed fine... and nothing was out of place.
We got home about 20 mins ago, and I'm kinda confused why someone would be going into their house but not taking anything. I would feel pretty bad if someone stole their stuff

yo man, set up a camcorder somewhere where you think a person is going through. That's the best thing you can do right now.
Now me and my dad, we would dress in black and camp out at night for an ambush (metal gear style) (im not lying).

whoa thats a little freaky
. but anyway good luck and yeah you should put a camcorder like in the garage or whatever. tell us if u ever find that guy. actually i have a lot of anxiety about those kinds of things. i have a pretty wild imagination. and if you are lying then you must get away with a lot of things. lol. actauly something like that happened to me about a month ago not the whoile dorr thing but someone coming in. its a pretty long story...... sorry thought i would tell my story cuz it's sort of related to this topic.
so anyway my friend vicente and I were staying over at the neighbor's house and we were so frikin scared that night becuase my neighbor's daughter was splitting up with her husband and he had threatened to kill everyone at this particular house and that he was gonna kill himself and the whole sha'bang. were trying to go to bed on the couches but the next thing i hear is someone fiddling with the front door. i was already sooo freaked out so iwas freaking out even more. my friend was like "omg dude what is that?" and i was like "i dont know." so anyway finally the front door comes open we get under our blankets acting like we were a sleep but then i looked up and upstairs ( the have a three story house) and i saw somebody that i had never seen before. then him/her looked they were staring right at me. i was freaking out like you couldnt believe. so when him/her goes upstairs to the third floor i jumped behind the couch in the corner and then my friend went into the other corner. WOW we were behind those couches for like 10 min. like almost crying and then i started coming up with things like who it might be and what they might be doing. so i say "dude we gotta make a run for it to your house.) ( he lives right next door) and he was like "hell no dude hes gonna come down and frikin kill us. and i was just like dude jusr run like hell. so we dart it to his house at 1 in the morning all freaked out. we get in the backyard starting to walk towards the back door and then i see these two dudes just fu**ing hop the wall into his yard and i was just so scared like you couldnt believe. so i dart back towards the wall into his neighbor's house but he just jumps under the trampline thinking that they wont see them. i had never hopped a wall or ran that fast in my life i got over that wall in like 2 sec. so vicente comes up to the wall and it happened to be that it was his two brothers that were just coming back from the seven eleven. so i hop back over all freaked out an then we tell them what happened and of course they laughed but then we ended up chilling with them outside in the back for about 5 hrs just talking about all kinds of stuff so that comforted me for a while. then in the morning i hopped the wall into the neighbor's yard and go in and check up on everyone and everyone is fine. i was sooo confused and i am sooo positive that it wasnt a dream becuase of course i woke up at my friends house. so now everytime i decide to spend the night there i end up checking the locks and shutting the blinds and checking everything out like 10 times and then finally fall a sleep satisfied but still a little shookin up from that one night. well thought i'd share that with you. good night sweet dreams!

well yea their obviously using their computer to play their mmorpgs, becouse theirs cant handle it. duh.
and like wat riki said set up a camcorder or get a buch of coffee at dunkin donuts and wait for them with a baseball bat or golfstick, and knock them out sensless THEN call the cops, that way you get to have fun and cach the person.
I am saying old guy... and panty theif.... at least thats what I would be doing... err .... I mean not doing.... anyways if its true thats pretty skechty I advise camping out one day and then beating who ever is coming into the house... with a bat... and a stick... which is kinda like a bat but then you could say you beat him/her with the ugly stick... hehehe ugly people are funny... so are fat people... ah fat people...

I mean, what do you expect? You left the door open, which means anyone passing by it can just waltz on it.

Why are you reading this? This is crap compared to what's above.
I was in pretty much something simular, and this is what I did.
Its a classic thing to do but:
Put a small piece of tape on the top corners of the doors (clear tape). Not too big or they will hear the tear of the tape when the door opens.
So the next time you come to look at the house look to see if the tape is torn or loose. If so then start taking drastic action like survailance or something.
In my case I found the tape torn and did a little "stakeout" and watched the door all night. Found some kids breaking in, called the cops and they got them in the act. Muahaha!
But on a different note, shouldnt the people with the cats get an animal door installed?

well my sister's BF's family gave us instructions to leave the back door open to the garage... but we were supposed to keep the door from the house to the garage locked, and we did but someone unlocked it. So I suppose someone could just walk in and steal things from their garage, but they dont really have a whole lot of stuff in there, and you wouldn't think someone would go to their house when it's set back into the woods and surrounded by alot of trees, (you can hardly see the neighbor's house through the trees)
and since the door swings open to the inside of the garage and not the outside, then nobody could have seen it open through the trees anyways. I guess they should get a little animal door for the cat and leave their back garage door locked from now on, after they get back and change the locks.
So far between yesterday and today the door in the garage has been locked and everything has been the same way as we left it before (My dad made a list of how the things were when we left so we could see if someone moved sumthin around) I am thinking it was just a Nosy old fart, and also I didn't know this but there is an accused Sex Offender who lives in their neighborhood.. so we gotta watch out for that too.
Maybe they ask another person to check as well because they didnt trust the 17 years old girl? That would be a little lame to do so and not warn the little teen, but well, some folks are just plainly sick.
Or they got a relative who know a LOT about that family and take the freedom to enjoy the house while they are gone.
Anyway, it is some person who know the family that is absent. Maybe someone who is supposed to be out of town and have the key and go out to the dancing bars a lot, like an older children who left the parents home and have keys & all.

ok so their family is home now, everything is accounted for in their home, but what is kinda weird is that when they got home and went in the garage the spare key was under the bottle on the shelf again.
I know im not losing my mind, I looked all over that shelf and there was no key there the other day...
they think that the person who took the key probably made a copy of it, so they are changing their locks now just to be safe.
