Hello. Not really sure where the best place to put this is. I know there use to be a Developers forum but I don't see that any more. If this is the wrong spot for this then please move it to the proper place.
What is Rise of Heroes: Online? - Rise of Heroes is a Crafting focused Sandbox MMO with Theme Park Elements. The main Continent features a Deep PvE experience with both static and dynamic story driven quests which evolve with the world. Dynamic World Events ensure that the player doesn't know what to expect from play session to play session. Faction, Guild, Group, and Solo content round out the experience on this continent. Surrounding the main Continent are the wastelands, a Hostile free for all PvP experience. Secure land for your faction, fight for Dominance, and control the political and economic structures of these lands where only the bravest souls dare to go.
For those of you who know me and are skeptical please feel free to voice that skepticism and let's have a real dialog. I want to hear your opinions and get your feedback.
This Thursday I will be posting a Video to youtube showcasing a Preview Build which will be released on Friday to a select few groups of people and other developers so I can get feedback. Then starting next Friday I will be doing weekly public preview builds. I'd love to have you guys join me on this ride and see where things go! Thanks!

"a Hostile free for all PvP experience." I wonder why indie MMO want FFA PVP , that's just too harsh environment for normal players .
FFA PVP may fun at first , but it's bad in long run as the power gap being bigger and bad old players start to gang on new players for fun .
You can use free PK on specials map to make players compete with other , but should not let all the game being FFA PVP
As for crafting part , I guess that you do armor and weapon crafting as main contents ?
If that's the case then i don't think it's good . Crafting should focus on consume items like potion and food .
Current trend for crafting game is farming , i think . People nowadays love to plant stuffs , watch it grown and harvest it .
And i think instead of trolls , you should
focus more on humanoid enemies like bandits or evil cults . They are
money saving and resources wise enemies as you can re-use player
character resources to create them . 3D models and animations
Most if not all of the trees are currently just place holder. Trying to focus on game play rather then how it looks while at the same time getting the major environmental systems in place from the start so everything can be integrated together. But yeah personally I am pretty happy with how things are looking. Things need to be optimized a huge amount but that usually comes during the late stages of Alpha or early stages of Beta.
I just purchased around 30 Creatures. A lot of them will be used for Special World Bosses which will be spawned in randomly setting off a Zone wide Event to take them down. But I will take your suggestion into account and see what I can do about getting more humanoid mob assets in place.

So you buy the assets and not create them yourself ? i mean , no 3d artist and animator . If that's the case then that's a problem for further develop .
You can't use cosmetic as reward tactic in case you lack of ability to create those contents .

I think as indie developer or hobby one , you did something that most can't do .
Thanks. I am currently trying to focus on the Systems to make sure there is a decent number of systems and depth... I believe if the Systems are solid the Game Play is sure to be there as well in a true Sandbox.
JamesP... As in James Proctor, the guy who "designed" or was "working" on Greed Monger? Just by looking at the game you've got previewing here it looks like it's being designed using one of those cheap 'Create an MMO' software packages. I don't want to crap on your ideas, but I don't think I've seen a single completed project from you that wasn't using unity store assets. I think I'll take a hard pass on this.
No I don't have any finished projects... But all I am asking is to follow and judge it on it's own as I continue posting updates and making releases. You might find it becomes fun as I get more added.
Rise of Heroes has had many different iterations. This Iteration has only been going for a little while. But yes I originally started on the first Iteration back in 2009

If you don’t have a pvp focus this day and age, you’ve poorly developed your mmorpg. It will no chance of success.

If you don’t have a pvp focus this day and age, you’ve poorly developed your mmorpg. It will no chance of success.

Speaking for myself only...any part of a game that has FFA pvp is an immediate no from me. And when i hear a Dev say..but just so and so is FFA pvp, i think about all the parts of the game they will eventually tie into that FFA PVP zone.
Want to craft as a pve player? No problem just get the top tier loot from monsters or nodes in the FFA zone.
Want a home or guild? Again no problem...just take a stroll through FFA land. Ya no thanks.
