A video-game so good adults cry for a release date. Life Goals.  B)
Adults cry and rage when they don't get what they were promised when they fall victim to ponzi scheme, fraud, or Star Citizen.

Maybe Star Citizen isn't really comparable to the other two, but people crying that they haven't received the product is never means they think the product is doing good.
Stick to finished and reviewed products, kickstarting and crowdfunding are not pre-orders, act accordingly, in the end it's only a video-game and holding on to "promises" is not only naive but extremely dumb specially when it concerns game development.

O mean you don't have to do much research to understand that things change all the time, there's plenty of video-games that miss their "release date", in this site go check the mmo's who got kickstarted with a "release date" and compare them with their development stage, what they have now playable to their backers.

Don't let the frustration cloud your judgement, it's not worth it because you're not allowing yourself to understand what's happening around you and improving yourself as a mature human being.

I’m not hater and not a fanboy, just someone who would be happy to play a new space game. I haven’t followed the updates either as I can only really get interested in a game when it has a release date.

For those ‘in the know’ is there a predicted /approx date that they have in mind for releasing the game?

What strikes me is that if a games takes so long, won’t the graphics etc be out of date by the time they have released it from when they were first made/designed?

Would be good to know what expectations there are for the game to be finished.

Roberts has never seen a new thing that he didn't want to immediately add into his games.  Never.  Right now there's no one to tell him no either.   There'll  always be something new for him to force his underlings to work on.

As I understand it, there's still nothing in the game that's actually locked down.   So you're not likely to see a Beta version of the game for years.   Best bet is to ignore Star Citizen until you hear that a beta is out.

If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.
