The Heroes of the Storm site has been updated with a profile of the next playable character coming to the Nexus. Dreadlord Mal'Ganis is fresh out of the Warcraft universe where he originally was charged with corrupting Arthas Menethil. In HotS, Mal'Ganis will be a Life-Draining Warrior, seemingly more tanky than DPS.

Well, good. He's not an assassin. :D He actually sounds interesting and the game definitely needs more Warriors.

I am not the biggest fan of warriors but DAMN he looks like a hell of a lot of fun to play. That Dark Conversion heroic looks nice but I could see it being overpowered on release and being nerfed.

Great. The game definitely needed more bruiser variety. The hero looks great and unlike almost all recent heroes it doesn't look broken, except for that Dark Conversion which seems a bit...broken. That's a tank killer especially if you have a Medivh or Uther for example to shield on low hp. They might have to re-think this one.
But overall this is the first hero in a while that I'm super excited and I actually know that I'll play it :P

Looks cool and has a neat mechanic. I like heroes that can self heal.

However, a new Specialist hero would be great. The last Specialist was Probius over a year and a half ago.

Also, since Probius there has been 9 Assassins, 5 Warriors(including Mal'Ganis) and 5 Support.

Yeah and what's more Probius was a flop. Almost no one players it nowadays even in lower leagues because there are so few people that can actually play it good.

Specialists have given the balance team a lot of grief, and I think that may be why they are hesitant about adding more.

Probius is listed as a high-damage specialist, but his combo is so obvious that you literally have to work to create or man choke points constantly to be effective with him.  Not many people are good at that, and not all maps are conducive to it.

So, character balance can be hit and miss. But, just because you put out a bad character that doesnt mean abandon their class altogether.

The Specialists that came before Probius; Medivh, Xul and Sylvanas are still very good(even after constant nerfs).

They didnt abandon the Support class after they put out Ana.
