Even though we are all having a great time in Destiny 2: Forsaken and talk about it daily, none of us trust Bungie to keep moving forward without ripping the game out from under us and to make Destiny 3.

Thing is, there's tons of features that would require a new game that players are clamoring for too. It will happen, I give it two years before there's a D3 on shelves.

Destiny 2 should have been a full blown expansion on Destiny 1.

Destiny 1 was at a really good spot after Taken King. It had excellent zone design and I still miss some of them.

Destiny 2 was such a disappointment. It had a decent Campaign and I enjoyed it, but it was finished to quickly and then it was nothing but a horrible and utterly boring grind. Way worse than the first year of Destiny 1.

Forsaken was ok, but again a terrible short, but good campaign and then it's again a horrible boring grind in a single zone, except for the weekly challenge that rotates, but that's just one evening and you're done and back grinding at Dreaming City.

Where are the Heroic strikes? Where are the daily heroic missions? Just to make it actually viable to go back to the other planet zones other than being stuck in Dreaming City.

I am not sure where this sentiment comes from, if you were part of the D1 community you were excited for and very much wanted D2.. there are thousands of videos on YT, reddit threads etc, all in anticipation for D2's release.. what are you talking about?

Everyone was excited about D2, but we were disappointed in what we got because we expected the starting point to be at least TK. It wasn't.

D3 is going to need to be over and beyond d1 and d2 or its going to be irreparable damage.

BA are aware they disappointed the fan base with the D2 launch, they did a lot to try to fix it but because how hype we were for d2, the let down was bad. D3 has to be amazing.

The forums are filled with suggestions for D3. Again Idk why people on this site are so in denial about Destiny. If you don't like it that's cool, but its not going to change anything. Millions of people are going to buy and play D3 lol

There shouldn't have even been a Destiny 2. They should have just kept building on the foundation of Destiny 1.

before they announced D2 this is what we thought was going to happen. Devs were like 10 year plan blah blah, we thought that meant xpacs..

After the D2 announcement however, everyone was still very excited about what it could possibly be.. but man what a let down.

Its okay right now for a hour or so then I put it back down. Im kinda over D2 as a player. Im waiting to see what they do next time.

It would be nice to go to a different part of the galaxy for D3... Bungie needs to get creative.

I learned after Destiny not to buy into this franchise at release.  Didn't purchase Destiny 2 until the Forsaken bundle that included Warminad and Curse of Osiris.  Got my money's worth, didn't have to deal with the disappointment I felt at release of D1.

Call of Duty isn't billing itself as a massive universe with great player progression. Destiny is, and would benefit more from building upon a strong foundation than from wiping the slate clean every few years.

That's because Destiny was originally billed as a 10 year project that would build upon the originals foundation. Destiny 2 was a frustrating announcement because they basically said the foundation they built didn't support the ideas they had for the game, so they had to rebuild it with Destiny 2. Now if they release Destiny 3, it proves that they just want to keep pushing them out without doing what the original plan was.

Call of Duty is expected to release every year because it's a competitive team based multiplayer shooter, and that's what they have been doing since Modern Warfare.

I think that the Forsaken DLC has shown clearly "how a DLC" shall be at all. Dreaming City changes rhythm, hidden chests changing over the Weeks, Dungeon and Q's changing and now the Event. Honestly, this is by far the best iv'e seen DLC construction/design wise in any game, how it all works and whatnot. It is, for me, just sooo good!

Also ppl in my Clan see that as i do. As mentioned in the well written article, it would be the best to not go straight for a Destiny 3 and rather evolve /transform from 2 into 3 over time. And ofc take all the good things, like the design of Q's and mechanics (Dreaming City weekly changes and such, also the Raid), and put that further into a 3'ish Destiny. That would be just so awesome. And yes, i would buy that as well for the aforementioned 40-60 € or $.

If the quality would be as good as Forsaken is, it would be a "blind buy" for me, even a Pre Order!
But a Destiny 3 with a wipe again, nope thx.

This is what happens when people get a peek behind the wizard's curtain and they dont understand what they see.

People keep complaining that the Destiny "10 year plan" was supposed to be Destiny 1 being supported for 10 years but that was never the plan.

The 10 year plan was always Destiny being a trilogy. So, even if you dont want it expect Destiny 3 in 2020.

Also, there was no way they could have supported Destiny 1 for that long. The graphics engine was made specifically for previous gen consoles and it was terrible. The D1 graphics engine was so bad it severely limited what they could do with expansions and delayed production significantly.

Forsaken has some nice stuff but I have trouble wanting to log in. What is there to grind for? I was looking for something more like a Diablo game for gear searching that was perfect rolls for what I wanted. Destiny 2 is boring in that regard no matter what they are doing.

I got one character to 600 and another is getting gear there and third is close. I just don't have any desire any more as there is nothing I feel I need. Seems like most things want you doing some sort of pvp. Doesn't really interest me. I will say that the Haunted Forest is fun. Warmind is most fun I have had but story for Forsaken is best for Destiny to me so far.

I think that I am going back to Warframe for my daily shooting. The grind is worth it to me there. Destiny is good for short bursts the way it is now.

This is what I was getting at, fans were expecting D+, not D2 the totally separate game. Then they thought Ok, even if it is a new game this could be a better launch pad for Destiny. Don't play it myself, that sentiment was evident on these boards. It is the BF etc etc formula (well since EA started to milk BF a few years back) applied to Destiny which is a more MMO like game.

I never wanted Destiny to begin with, just better and more expanded Halo's. I usually buy hyped games and regret it later, yet I refrained from D1 and D2 and couldn't be happier with my decisions after hearing nonstop negatives about them from friends/guildies.

The problem is much deeper than simply singing a 3 contract deal.
Way way back, there were a few people that just loved what computers were about and wanted, loved and had passion to create games for them.A virtual world trying to somewhat mimic a real world within the confines of computer tech.
So there was the John Carmack's,slugging away for some business but working on a game or game engine in their spare time out of passion.

NOW? Everything is about making money, the games are just find a gimmick and market the hell out of it .Toss in some cliche words like Raid,Boss,PVP,loot and Esport and they know they have just targeted a very large audience.
There is no passion, they are instantly looking for angles to save costs and ways to garner higher profits, neither of which is about THE GAME.Who can we get to publish out game,ok they want loot boxes and a cash shop or they are not interested, everything is a money angle.
Destiny 3 will just be a title that means nothing, you can expect the result to actually be a larger expansion off the same game engine and a lot of the same tools and systems.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

It's just like Call of Duty with every release.

People who didn't leave Destiny 1 stayed for Destiny 2, and those who haven't left Destiny 2 will play Destiny 3.

I know I am not part of that equation.

Destiny has a ten year plan. A ten year money grab brought to you by Activision....that is their entire plan.
