A lot of people think this was a step in the right direction & I respect that but I don't agree with it. Pretty much every Fallout since Bethesda got the IP has had an optional survival mode, but this one isn't optional. You have to do it. I guess "have to" is phrasing it too strongly because no one has to buy the game but it should have remained optional in my opinion. I know you can't have some people playing on the server with it on & some with it off which is why I don't like the always on part. In short this just seems like it was a waste of time & the cheapest way to make money off a huge, very well know, IP.

Stop whine about this not being fallout 5. Its not. This is something new they try. Because frankly the typical gamer today dont even know what fallout is about. The play overwatch and think stories is boring. That being said I still think this game can succeed as its own fallout-game. I will give it a try when it gets released on PC !
oh.....ok, but only because you told me I don't know what Fallout is about. Thank you for enlightening me. For a moment there, I wasn't sure about the correctness of my own opinions.

Don't forget about the horrible syntax and grammar.

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

F5 seriously, why? F4 is awfull and F76 looks like one of those "survival" games (Like Conan).
Its just SP game that requires online connection and have forced PvP, no thanks. Also its overpriced.

    NO MMO - NO BUY.

P.S. Its only BR game left to make for Bethesda. >.>

P.S. 2 It May Not be Fallout 5, But people slipping on ice looks Fun. :P
I love Fallout 4, my favorite title of the series actually, but apparently I'm in the minority here on that.
    Minority? Maybe. Alone....certainly not.
    Mine too.

I do have concerns, will games like this be a springboard for a more MMO like game or siphon of those who would play a Fallout MMO? It seems to me this will be Conan Exiles all over again, big IP but little to do at the start. I should say though that little to do at the start is becoming a staple of gaming, we are expected to pay and cross are fingers that it all turns out alright, that is not a good place for gaming to be.

Until 76 comes out though we can but hope it is good and makes the industry realise there is room for a Fallout MMORPG.
IMO Bethesda is "pulling a Funcom" definitely throwing together an inexpensive Fallout game to capitalize on the IP, just as what was done with Conan Exiles.

There is no indication they have a plan for a larger MMORPG, there just isn't enough money in them anymore.

So how long before we see an ESO, Lotro, GW and all the rest doing a survival game? We asked for sandbox (or in my case a themepark/sandbox hybrid) and we got survival. :)

I believe one of the reasons that many people, including yours truly, ain't a fan of survival games is all the titles so far were extremely low-budget and remained in an never ending early-access land.

I always thought if Blizzard ever made a survival game it could become the next big thing and openly wished for a Diablo survival game.

Now we got Bethesda doing a new Fallout and I can't think of a better setting for a survival game. I agree with "pulling a Funcom" part to some extend, but in terms of production and quality these two titles are worlds apart.

Many of my friends used to watch me play Ultima Online or Everquest. But it was World of Warcraft that finally gained their interest in the genre. Interesting thing is most of their criticism towards early MMORPGs do share a similarity to survival games' flaws.

Sometimes it ain't the genre that we don't like, but the lack of budget and creative people behind it. For me, personally, survival genre is like that. I am not sure if Bethesda can revolutionize that, but it is way more appealing so far.

Don't forget, each will come with an "obligatory" BR mode naturally.

Clearly the genre is doing better than ever....not.

GW has had Southsun Survival for years, if that counts. Granted, it's actually one of gaming's first Battle Royale modes, which predates PUBG/Fortnite by several years.
