Best Games To Play On Halloween 2018
To hell with trick-or-treating, this is the true spirit of Halloween. Check out the list of the most blood-curdling video games and give Halloween the respect it deserves.
Resident Evil 7
Over the past couple of years, the horror video game genre has been flooded with countless titles that revolve around a sort of adopt the same, jump-scare tactics. Though some have been quite thrilling, the genre as a whole has gone down the drain. However, this release by Capcom has come as a surprise as not only did it have an exceptional storyline, it is quite freighting as well.
Outlast 2
Outlast II is a sequel to the first title, Outlast, which in a way, kick-started this whole revamped horror genre. So, you can say that Resident Evil 7 was inspired by this and not the other way around.
Evil Within 2
Plus, with the game being developed by one of the best storytellers in the industry, Bethesda Studios, you know it will not disappoint you. It’s a good pick for Halloween. Ever since the game’s release, it has received favorable reviews, with an average rating of at least 8 out 10 stars.
Dying Light
It highlights a zombie survival with ground-breaking free running/parkour features. Surviving through hordes of zombies, climbing walls, crafting unimaginable weapons, it can’t get any better than this.
Friday The 13th
Well, what if we were to tell you that now you can experience all of that in an 80s stylized video game. Where you, not only can play as one of the teenagers but also can put yourself in the shoes of the serial killers. Tell me, doesn’t this sound exciting?
Hunt: Showdown
Hunt: Showdown is a competitive first-person PvP bounty hunting game with heavy PvE elements, from the makers of Crysis. Set in the darkest corners of the world, it packs the thrill of survival games into a match-based format.

I'm an avid fan of horror games and try to play every one I can get my hands on.
I would say if you want scares go with
Condemned Criminal Origins. This game is insanely tense, it did atmosphere super well. It is a bit clunky now and didn't age extremely well, but it was the first time I had experienced having to find weapons by ripping pipes off walls and finding 2x4's on the ground. Super trippy game, lots of scares, that don't even come from monsters, just drugged out people. The second game wasn't nearly as good IMO.
Or any of the Fatal Frame series. That entire series is awesome. It's very well made, I would say the first two are probably the best. The whole camera as a weapon system is horrifying because you have to physically look at what you are trying to kill.
If you are really really okay with an old game, play Pathologic HD. Really clunky horror game made in Russia, but the remake is actually really well done and published by Devolver. Probably the best use of atmosphere I've seen, and has a great soundtrack. Not as much straight up horror as it is tense weirdness, but it's still really worth a shot if you haven't played it. Really text heavy, and a lot of management of time and hunger / thirst but it's worth playing.
I would link videos but I'm currently at work.

Kyleran on yours sincerely
'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

Gets me every damn time...

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.- FARGIN_WAR
