Blizzcon has come and gone now for 2018 and while we are usually celebrating the awesomeness that is Blizzard, this year turned out a bit different. While some of the announcements still came as a huge surprise and welcome cheers of support by fans, Blizzard fell prey to some of the sad new rhetoric that surround our culture, as well as their own clandestine development messaging. We’ll call it the Immortal Blizzcon that no one will forget. If you have ever been to a show, you will know why.

In the case of diablo its more ugly than you think but its also funny. Outside of this site and blizzcon they were deleting posts n negative comments left right n centre, pretty much all over the net as well as removing the mass downvote by the community on the videos reuploading making it an unlisted video and pointing people in that direction.

Seems they care more about damage control than the fans!

Blizzard has been out of touch for many, many years. This is nothing new. It can be seen all over the D3 website and the WoW website.

Warcraft 3 was a good message and I am looking forward to the vanilla servers. The rest is quite terrible.

I am not looking forward to Blizzcon 2019. My wallet has officially been closed to anything Blizzard related until they go back to their roots, but I think it's time for this behemoth to fall. Hoping for them to go back to the way they were when all of the original people have left and they are connected to Activision is just a futile endeavor so RIP Blizzard. I'm glad others are also noticing and lets all continue to be as vocal as possible about it.

Diablo Immortal is just Blizzard taking revenge on the PC gamers for the Real Money Auction House fiasco with Diablo 3’s launch!
It was supposed to be their next instant money printing machine after WoW’s declining popularity and we PC gamers took that away from them.

So now they will try it again with this Mobile Diablo game, since mobile gamers are used to being ripped off!

Not sure how to get the person who wrote the article to see this but it is not reskin of Champions of Light but of Endless of God. People keep using the wrong game for what is reskinned.

When players were expecting Blizzard to redeem themselves from Diablo 3, which led many hardcore Diablo fans to go to Path of Exile, they just annouced a shittier version of Diablo 3 for mobile.

Blizcon was just a disappointment overall for me. The Diablo announcement felt like a Con from Bliz...lol. I am excited for the upcoming stuff in 8.2 and beyond, so there's that. But overall, just a disappointing Blizcon.

The biggest issue I see with this diablo lite game announcement is where it was done. People paid 100s if nor 1000s of dollars to come see what new and exciting things blizzard had coming down the pipe line. And what do they get a re make of an old game diablo: microtransaction. Which let be honest is just a test bed for how far they will be able to push D4s mocrotransaction BS. this show is for the fans and customers of blizzard. Not only that but these devs were asshats for no reason. If they did this at any other convention or through another marketing Avenue there would of been backlash for sure but not to this degree

When the only thing you can boast about doing right is refurbishing your past glories from over a decade ago, it's time to take a good hard look at where exactly you want your company to go.

They increased the prices of the tickets, gave less/shitty ingame loot, and toted a mobile game to their mostly PC master race audience... Who's keeping score here? I do feel bad for the peeps on the stage though. They've prbly been working hard on these games, and they're really excited to share the news, but their leaders threw them to the wolves.

I'm a major smartass, so I'm sure I would've popped off at the mouth from a defensive place also, like the Blizz guy, but it didn't help them in the least.

No worries though, in a handful of years he'll be the new President of Blizz!

Well , now I am more inclined to believe that Mike decision to stepdown from Blizzard is because Activision is more and more in control of Blizzard.

One simply cannot walk away from his 'baby' after raising him for 27 years.

Blizzard is already a .. Studio within Activision and all they will do from now on, since Mike is no longer there, is to milk every Blizzard title as much as they can. I mean, having Activision games on Blizzard Battle.Net was just the beginning.

I felt very sad when Mike said he will no longer be with Blizzard and I knew right from that moment that there is something fishy about his announcement.

Anyway, he stepped down at the perfect time. Seems he didn't want to have his hands dirty with this .. Diablo Immortal fiasco.

This Blizzcon will be remembered as the day when Blizzard ( as we know it ) , died.

There were two MAJOR uglies at Blizzcon.

The first and perhaps the absolute ugliest of all was the announcement of Diablo Immortal. As much as everyone THINKS the issue is that no Diablo 4 title was announced, the truth is, everyone is FUMING over the fact that Blizzard is allowing one of their IPs to become a cash-grab micro-transaction game. In essence, if they are willing to let the Diablo franchise whore itself out, the remaining Blizzard titles may not be that far behind. It yells, ACTIVISION ploy all over it. It YELLS, Blizzard isn't about games anymore... just quick cash.

The second major ugly was the use of sharding/phasing on the demo and the QA that basically came back and said they will use it to a degree at launch as well. This breaks the whole point of even doing classic. Players wanted a return to the community based version of the game. The one where, yeah, people tagged mobs and you got pissed, but it gave you a reason to group up with others or flag and do some world PVP. You shard/phase people, there is no reason to do those things. The very essence of vanilla is lost.

Those two things lit up the forums, the live QA's, and every stream out there that you can think of. Blizzard did the worst PR move of it's existence and it's highly unlikely they will ever recover from it.

Ah, but they have. And that direction is the Chinese MTX mobile market.

If they want their company to go down the swanney there going the right way about it.... take a look at Trion who lost the plot entirely and just rehashed their games and it failed.

Blizzard has been a cash cow company for years, now. They don't make AAA games anymore. Like the first poster said, their greatest announcements are just 15 year old games; that says something. They haven't released a AAA title in 6 (?) years, and it was extremely poorly received on release.

I remember more than one person saying that Blizzard was too big and that only Blizzard could destroy Blizzard.
Well yet again Blizzard has to back pedal and even their game director is at a loss for words...excuses.
So Jeff kaplan in a vague attempt to ignore the question ,instead says we have 6 new characters coming,we are certain people will be happy.

What are we talking about here, well not ONE single black skinned female character in Overwatch. An even bigger spotlight since they actually had advertised a couple black women as well as a couple even have had darker skin but Kaplan or whomever,Jeff is in charge so,decided to go all white yet again.
Funny how when a question abotu the NOW is asked,Jeff Kaplan immediately goes into the future, well yeah no kidding Mr.Kapaln i am sure eventually it will happen, the question was why is there not one now?

You wanted the new Overwatch character to be a female Django?
