So the game I am looking to upgrade for is X4: FOUNDATIONS.

"
Recommended:
  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit), Windows 8 (64-bit), Windows 7 SP1 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-6700 or AMD equivalent
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1070 or AMD equivalent (Vulkan support required)
  • Storage: 12 GB available space

My current system:
Intel I53470 3.6gz OC 4.2
DDR3 8Gig
Dram freq 800.7
Motherboard: GA-Z77X-D3H
Video: GTX 1060 6g

So...

with 800CAD

Upgrade RAM + Video Card.

OR

Motherboard
RAM
CPU

???

Im thinking Ryaom CPU
16gigddr4
Kick Ass MB

And keeping the 1060 GFX

Vs

Keeping my MB-CPU

Upgrade to a 1070TI

And 16gig

Whats the best upgrade?

    My recommendation:

dont throw any any money at hardware until you have the game. Once you’ve run the game and can see the bottlenecks on your existing system, you’ll better know which way to put your money.

hard to say right now if this game will actually be CPU dependent as their specs seem to imply. Just say that it is for discussions sake, it may be wiser route upgrade move to a Ivy Core i7 or just plan to replace the entire computer. If you do new CPU motherboard RAM OS, your 80% there already, but it’s much easier to sell or donate a while working old system than it is to try to part out a lot of obsolete pieces.

It is a pretty big jump from a 1060 to 1070Ti , but not so much that upgrading from one to the other is going to be that impactful.

Totally agree with Ridelynn. Some games are very CPU dependent. Best can you can do is obviously based on your budget. If you could tell us your budget then a lot of nice folks in her can give you recommendations. I build gaming computers on the side. Not trying to offer my services that would be inappropriate, but I could give you some advice and my experience with good and bad hardware (reliability), and maybe point you in a good direction. Many of the folks can do the same as me. Good Luck...
